What's Gran Turismo 4 like? I've heard it's really difficult, but I like a challenge. A racing fan's dream (as my brother puts it, since I got it for him). You have to do a bunch of boring licence tests to be able to progress further and unlock more tracks and cars but it's nothing a downloaded game save or Action Relay can't fix I prefer fighting games myself. It's all about stress relief after a long day at work, hehehe..

I have a World of Warcraft 14 day trial that I was thinking of starting soon. For those who play, what is a good race and class for a beginner like me? Great question. I got Hubby that game for Christmas--he said he wanted it, but he always gives up on games about halfway through. I don't see him playing it that long, but I got it for him. Fine, I'll admit it. I'll play it more than he will.

People in groups are always looking for healers (priests, druids, etc.), but I think for class it really depends on how you like to play. For instance, If you're the type of person who really likes to get in the middle of a fight and beat the crap out of an enemy, then you might want to be a warrior. Mages also deal a lot of damage, but they use more ranged attacks.
I don't know if race really matters. One of my sisters has characters on both Horde and Alliance and she's adamant that Horde players are more polite and helpful than those on Alliance so maybe you might want to pick a Horde race. That could just be her opinion though. I say, pick what you like. I don't think any race as an advantage over another (except Gnomes, who have an advantage in the engineering career).
And with that, I have exhausted all my WoW knowledge.

My brother gets mad at me because I always play as a warrior in a RPG. He insists that I should be a mage or an archer. But I don't want to think too much when I play a video game, so I don't want to think about spells. And I really just want to pound the snot out of something. So, warrior. Big shock, huh?

Why should you be a mage or archer? Because you're a girl? Nuts to them. I'd rather be the deadly beautiful, kickass female swordsman.

Just found this thread and am loving it. I'm a total gamer geek, devoted mainly to online games like EQ, EQ2, Camelot, Ultima, UO (back in the day), as well as RPGs like Neverwinter Nights (I'm hoping to get NWN 2 for my birthday next week).
Goggle, I played WoW for a while and liked it a lot. On the good side/Alliance I tried cleric and hunter/ranger. I'd say the hunter/ranger (can't remember which is the correct name in that game) was the better class for easy fun. I'm really always a cleric at heart, but the hunter was a really entertaining class. On the evil/Horde side I played a shaman. One of the cow people (you'll see them hehe) and that was also a lot of fun. I'd definitely recommed that class and race combo.

Though Chunk (that's the nickname I use for my brother, because I'm mean) also usually plays as some sort of mage or archer, so maybe he just thinks it's more fun. I, on the other hand, just want a big sword.

Okay, I just discovered this thread. Goggle, I played WoW for the better part of a year and I loved being a druid. That way you get to sample a lot of different play styles (caster, warrior, rogue, & something new they added since I quit) because you can shift into different forms, plus you can heal yourself and solo pretty well. And unless you are really into getting killed a lot, I'd suggest avoiding a PvP server.
I haven't been gaming much lately. I am hoping for Final Fantasy XII under the Xmas tree, and my bf is getting me sucked into Animal Crossing on his DS. He is hoping to get a Wii, as well as Guitar Hero 2 so we can rawk out. The couple that shreds together, stays together, right?

I was surprised how much easier NWN was when playing as a fighter instead of a wizard or sorcerer (I can never keep them straight). I like the spells, but pounding people is pretty fun. That battle in the cave in Hordes of the Underdark where there are like five people to fight was nearly impossible as a spellcaster (I think it took me about 30 tries to beat it), but as a fighter it was a piece of cake.
The main thing I love about that game is the loot. I always try to become as rich as possible. I love killing and looting. I also like to play evil characters. LaconicDude does not approve.

Animal Crossing is crack. I have the original, and I've put way too much time into it. Of course, I'm a bellionare.*
And I always have to play it when winter comes, because we rarely get snow here. But in my little town (named Arkham, after the insane asylum in the Batman comics--shut it!) it snows throughout the winter. And the snowman talks to me. He really does!
*Money is called bells in the Animal Crossing universe. Do not mock me!
