Lana maintained that Tyrone Power was the only man she ever really loved. While she was off aborting his baby, he dumped her for psychobitch second wife Linda Christian.

The whole Cary living with Randolph Scott for so many years is definitely fodder for the bi speculation. There's this great book called The Girls, which reveals that almost every gal in the 30s/40s had a fling with Dietrich or Garbo. If that's the book I'm thinking of, I couldn't finish it. I remember reading that Fatty Arbuckle killed Virginia Rappe. In the book, this was presented as fact. Anyone who's read about the Arbuckle case knows that this wasn't true and I was completely turned off to the rest of the book after that. (I could be thinking of a different book though!) One of my favorites is The Divine Feud about Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. SO many great stories there! You might be thinking of Kenneth Anger's Hollywood Babylon or Hollywood Babylon 2. He presented the Fatty Arbuckle rape as fact and wrote a bunch of other sensationalized bullshit, such as the Gish sisters involved in an incestuous relationship, and Clara bow involved in an orgy with the USC football team.

Well in her autobiography she has a very high opinion of herself and she slept with enough costars to make Sienna Miller look like Mother Angelica, in addition to her seven marriages. She had two abortions, the second one was Tyrone Power's baby.
Her and good friend Ava Gardner had a strange habit of dating the same men; Peter Lawford, Howard Hughes (man he got around!), Artie Shaw, and Frank Sinatra to name a few. Lana was extremely bitter about Sinatra because he refused to leave Nancy for her saying he would never get a divorce, only to marry Ava a few years later. Frank loved to goad Ava during their legendary fights by threatening to go back to Lana.
I think Lana is lying her ass of when she wrote about Johnny Stompanto. I do believe he beat her senseless, blackmailed her with naked photos, and threatened to disfigure her, but something doesn't add up with the whole "He ran into my teenage daughters knife!" story.

I didn't know about Tyrone and Lana, but I know he also caused Judy Garland to have an abortion.
Tyrone Power could be a good candidate for Timmy's lover.

Of course. Lana did it. I don't think Tyrone Power could be Timmy's A- List lover, he was married three times and Ent said this guy remained single.

A really good book to read is My Secret Mother: Lorna Moon by Richard deMille. He was Cecil B deMille's adopted son. Richard always thought he was his illigetimate son, because he looked like Cecil's father. Turns out he was Cecil's nephew that they adopted.
It always made me wonder about all the "adopted" Hollywood children at that time and who their real parents were. For instance, Bob Hope married for years to one woman while having affairs right and left. They had a few adopted kids, I wonder if any were really his.

I read all the Katharine Hepburn/Lauren Bacall books when I was a kid. Katharine Hepburn's book about the filming of the African Queen is really interesting. Betty (Bacall) really sugar coated her friendship with Sinatra during Bogie's illness/death in her autobiography. I always assumed she and Sinatra's relationship started prior to Bogie's death.
As for Cary Grant, I thought it was pretty well established he was bisexual. The scene in My Favorite Wife where Randolph Scott swings on the rope over the pool while Cary Grant watches cracks me up. Didn't Grant have a big thing for Sophia Loren during/after Houseboat? I think they had a fling, but he wanted it to last beyond an on-set romance. I have always tried to imagine his conversations with Dyan Cannon during their marriage. Definitely and odd pairing in my mind.
Oh, anyone got the scoop on Bing Crosby? Is it true he beat his wife and/or children? Every time White Christmas comes on I think of those rumors and turn the channel.
