Really? I didn't know this. I actually have 2 copies I think of the "keyhole cover" and I am sure I have seen them at my local used bookstore. Interesting to learn.

I devoured these books when I was a teen. The thing that kills me is that my mom knew that FitA had incest but bought me the books anyway (she probably didn't realize that ALL of the books had incestuous plot lines, so perhaps I should give her a pass - the incest in FitA was much more organic to the story than the incest in the other novels, imo) . I guess my parents really did think that reading Sweet Valley High was going to rot my brain if they preferred that I read V.C. Andrews.

My Sweet Audrina was my favorite back in the day (I shudder to think that I once had a literary crush on Arden, damn I had bad taste in men), but every time I get the urge to re-read it, I just tell myself that some things are better left in the past. At the time, I totally understood Cathy, Ruby, Heaven, Dawn and Audrina. Now? I would probably be horrified at what I had been allowed to read.

I think it was right after her sixteenth birthday party, and technically, you wouldn't call it pedophilia, since Cathy's past puberty by then. But yeah, that was skeevy.

I know it was on PAUL'S birthday, not Cathy's - that much I remember. She said something about " I wanted to give you a car for your birthday, but I couldn't, so here's second best - me" or something ridiculous. Anyone want to shed a light on the ages here?

Yep, it was on his birthday-although after her's.

Although I would have preferred if she had married Paul, rather than Julian.

Actually, Cath was quite the skeezer because after she banged Chris and Paul, she left Paul hanging, met and married Julian, who died, then she stole her Mother's husband, Bart and married him. She claimed all of this was an attempt to not give in to her love/lust for her brother Chris. All of this while dropping babies, becoming a world renown ballerina and later owning her own dance school, and plotting the ultimate revenge on her evil grandmother. That Cath was something else.

I figure they have a master outline they use for each series, with blanks for things that change like names/places/flowery adjectives/and so on. For each new series, they just fill in the blanks and voila! They have a book!
