Why are there no live staged dramatic readings?!

Brilliant. I always heard Young Cathy's voice as kind deranged stage-Southern.

There's this episode of "The Twilight Zone" where the girl who plays Scout in "To Kill A Mockingbird" stars as a girl whose own parents ignore her but she gets sucked into a world with a loving grandmother-type woman.
Anyway, something went wrong with the filming and they didn't properly capture the actress's voice. Instead of having her come back and loop the dialogue they had a grown woman pretend to be her. It is the creepiest thing.
That's how I imagine Cathy's voice.

Why are there no live staged dramatic readings?! Because the movie was too dull to attain camp classic status among the drag community? Do guys read these books at all?

I actually heard about Flowers in the Attic from my grandmother's next door neighbor, who was a boy who was homeschooled. We were both about twelve. I have no idea where he heard about the books because he had gaps in pop culture knowledge that my crass public school education had made me aware of. Nowadays he races motorcycles and is a professional firefighter, married to a lady, and has a kid. Life is interesting.

I was in my 20s when I read the FITA series, and some of the guys I worked with (same age) were reading them, too.

That voice always sounded like the voice for Rocky from " The Rocky and Bulwinkle Show".

Maybe it was? June Foray did Rocky's voice, and she did tons of other voice acting.

Actually, it was June Foray. Good ears, myboys.

So after Flowers & Petals, I'm wondering if I really need to read about Cathy's children and grandchildren or if I should just skip to the prequel and be done with it.
