I just re-read it for the second time. I loved all the stories, especially the first one (can't remember the title) about the farmer, his wife, and their son. Heartbreaking and creepy at the same time. That one squicked me out. He has this weird obsession with rats, I don't know what it is but they're in the grossest and creepiest of his short stories.

I'm reading it now too. 1922 is the story involving rats, and yes, very creepy. I also read the 3rd story about the cancer victim, and it was okay. Just was waiting for his comeuppance.
I'm at the part in Bad Driver where she has escaped her Rapist/Killer and is thinking about Revenge I was expecting a more supernatural story (Short Cuts are BAD in Stephen King Land) so I'm intrigued to see whathappensnext..............
I re-watched the film version of 1408 and the first 45 minutes or so is still creepy as the story.... And then the CGI begins.............

With the anniversary of 9/11 tomorrow, I recommend his short story "The Things They Left Behind" in the "Just After Sunset" collection. A very powerful and sweet story; one of my favorites.

shalamar that was the first one I read in that series (I think it's the shortest), and yes, very, very good.
Finished Full Moon, No Stars. No really supernatural elements to any of the stories, just bad bad things. If you like stories about murder, rape, and cancer, then here is a book for you!
I'm restarting Bag of Bones since A&E is planning a miniseries, and I don't remember anything about this book at all. It's much more character-driven than plot-driven. I actually was hoping to re-read It but my copy has mysteriously disappeared. Oh, there it is, by that drain.....................

Go get it and linger by the drain. What's the worst that can happen?

I saw a commercial yesterday for a Bag of Bones mini-series starring Pierce Brosnan. I had no idea this was happening until I saw the ad. Right now I'm DVRing while watching The Amazing Race. I hope it's not too bad!

Just finished the Dark Tower series. I liked the middle books best, first and last were Ok. If they do make them into a tv series/mini-series I'd watch.

Just finished 11/22/63 and, for me, it's probably his best book in a very long time. He steps away from true horror (at least in the form of actual monsters; the monsters here are all too human) and though time-travel has been done to death, this didn't feel stale.
