I just ordered Getting Over Jack Wagner*, and am looking forward to it. My favorite co-worker and I were just discussing how a lot of Chick Lit doesn't really apply to our age group (early thirties) so I am hoping this fits the bill. I bought and promptly lent her the Something Borrowed and Something Blue books, as a result of lurking in this thread. So, thanks everyone!
*maybe this belongs in the True Confessions thread, but I even downloaded his one hit from the 80s after reading about the book. I'm a dork! But boy he was hot back in the day.*

You know what, I'm reading it, and I'm really slow to warm up to it. Feh.

Ha!
It's getting better. I laughed out loud at the part where she was remembering telling the saxophone guy, when he asked what kind of music she liked, "Well I like Jack Wagner."
Because I would have done the same DUMB thing in high school.

I'll have to pick that one up. I just finished Size 14 Is Not Fat Either. It was funny. Pure mindless drivel but I enjoy them although every Meg Cabot book I've read is probably meant for 16 year olds. But I still like them.

I just finished Tales of a Drama Queen and only the last third was any good. I'm surprised I got through the first two thirds (but it was fast paced, thank Xenu) because the heroine was too stupid and delusional to live. If the rest was written like the last part, it would have been better.

I'm just reading the Jack Wagner novel and it's okay, not great. I just wish she'd spend more of the novel in the present. I didn't like how much of the novel was descriptions of all the guys she dated in the past. It just wore on me after awhile. I skipped the whole college dating section - and I don't often do that.
Latest book that I read that I really enjoyed was Rachel's Holiday. Loved it. Funny and moving.

Latest book that I read that I really enjoyed was Rachel's Holiday. Loved it. Funny and moving. Ugh, I couldn't finish that book. Rachel annoyed the piss out of me. I've been on a big chick lit kick lately. I read Welcome To the Real World by Carole Matthews and I really enjoyed it. It as a cute story, and I enjoyed it enough to pick up another one of her books. I believe it was her first one For Better or For Worse. I'm enjooying this one as well, and will probably grab another next time I go to the library. I also read the newest Jane Green book. Life Swap (although I think the US title is Swapping Lives - I mooched it from someone and it was the UK copy. It was pretty good - better than The Other Woman. I also read the second book in the Barnaby series by Janet Evanovich. Liked that one too.
