I just finished PS, I Love You by Cecelia Ahern. I think this is the first book that has ever made me cry. I didn't out and out sobbed, but I got choked up several times while reading it. I really enjoyed it and now I can't wait for the movie to come out. (Of course, every time the character of Gerry appeared, I thought of Gerard Butler, who plays him in the movie version).

Oooh, I hated PS, I Love You. Liked the idea and was looking forward to reading it but there were so many parts where you could tell that the author was a good ten years younger than the main character she wrote about. That character and the whole story felt so uneven. Like a few good ideas that could have been told in different books were thrown into one and Ahern couldn't decide which one to tell. Oh, and I hated all the cutesy Westlife shoutouts (Cecelia Ahern's sister is married to one the Westlife singers). And since when do you need to know the lyrics of a song by heart at karaoke? Isn't that the whole point of karaoke? That you have the lyrics right there while you're singing? I know I'm nitpicking but I remember wondering why there was so much stress about remembering some lyrics. Anyway, I'm still going to see the movie. I like the idea of Hilary Swank playing Holly. I haven't really followed the making of this movie but as I understand it the film version will be set in in the US, not Ireland, right?

Yes, I believe the movie is set in New York, but they do go to Ireland (I think it may be for the girls' trip, but I'm not sure.) I've read a few reviews from people who have seen screenings of it and they're all positive. I can't wait.
I think this book is either love or hate - I haven't read any reviews that fall in the middle.

I just finished Something Borrowed by Emily Giffen...pretty good. Now I'm reading her sequel, Something Blue.......next on my list is the sequel to Something Blue, which is Baby Proof.

I loved Something Borrowed and Something Blue (actually, I think I read them because they were so highly recommended here) but Baby Proof is not a continuation of the first two.
Although I think Baby Proof looks fantastic, and I'm looking forward to reading it.

I read Sophie Kinsella's Can You Keep a Secret this afternoon (quick read, huh?) and loved it. I hated the Shopaholic series but wanted to give her another shot. Cute storyline... I may have to check out some of her other books.

I read Can You Keep a Secret and loved it also. Yes, it was a very quick read, as is, a lot of chick lits are.

I loved all three of Emily Giffin's novels. I gave up on the Shopaholic series after the second one, but I'll have to give Secret a try.

I'm not much for Chick Lit. I have nothing against it, I just usually can't get into it.
As I say the above statement, there is only one Author I do like that I think fits this catagory: Meg Cabot. She makes me laugh.
I am currently reading "Size 14 is Not Fat Either"

God, I hope this doesn't come across like a total promotionally-whoring post! And if it does, I apologize! I chat in the celeb threads but lurk here and am finally coming out of my shell! Pimp it shamelessly, girl! Congrats on the good reviews. I'm looking forward to reading it.
