Oooooh I'm so looking forward to that scene! I love how the characters think and work things out in their minds...and HoJo to wanting to visit Botswana. I've tried to read some of his other series and just couldn't get into them in the same way. Same here, I've been reading the Isabel Dalhousie books but don't really like the characters and who cares about a philosophy club?

There are more wonderful entries in the trip diary at the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency site - link. I love that Sandy is as inquisitive and wonderful in person as he would seem through reading his characters. The movie sounds fabulous, I can't wait. I want to go to Botswana even more now, reading the entries, however, I'd prefer that they do something about their snakes first, perhaps send them elsewhere, okay?

The movie's director said in today's New York Times that the film will air on the BBC and later on will show on American cable. A feature theatrical run isn't ruled out but the plan now is for tv only.

The pilot feature just aired on the BBC, but since I'm not acquainted with the books I didn't know what to expect. I have to say, it's utterly charming. It's a shame that we'll have to wait for the TV series until next year.

I've only read the first in the series, but I think the movie did a wonderful job in capturing the sweetness and charm of the book. It's made me want to read the other books now!

I thought the pilot was absolutely wonderful. Terrific acting, breathtaking scenery and totally true to the book. I can't wait for the series.

The newest book in the series is coming out in April: Tea Time for the Traditionally Built. I'm on the library waiting list!
