I read Lainey every day despite her pathological need to insert her life in every story she writes. No one cares that much about your beagles Lainey. I was just thinking about that--at least one story a day has to include something about herself--whether it's how often she washes her hair or if she likes potato chips.

Or how she and Jacek like to engage in a little bondage from time to time. I have never clicked on a story on Lainey Gossip looking for information about her marriage, her amazing sex life, or her superior child-free lifestyle, but she manages to sneak that information into whatever story she can.

I think it comes from a need to be on the same level as the subjects she writes about. You're there for details of the personal lives of Beyonce, Meghan Markle, Matt Damon, etc., so you also want to know about ETalk's Lainey Liu, right? Her life is as interesting as theirs, right? Right?

It's like the bloggers who insist on writing a novel before they give you the recipe you came for.
I just want to scream, "I'm not interested in your Welsh Corgi puppy. I just want the damn recipe for Chili Mac and Cheese"
Just give me the gossip, not all the personal bs. I'm not that into you.
Disclaimer: I think Corgies are adorable. But I was hangry.

I just want the damn recipe for Chili Mac and Cheese" I realized as I was scrolling through endless recipe preamble that it's something these bloggers do on purpose. I don't know why. Increase word count? Make more room for ads? Increase the amount of time people stay on the page? I don't know, but it's definitely something they are being taught at blogger conventions. Veggie Goddess Mama's Kitchen isn't just accidentally going off on tangents about what she and her husband learned about cheese during their vacation in France.

It’s definitely to increase the amount of time you spend on their page. Google loves that and it’s a factor of where/page your site will appear in a search.

I have never clicked on a story on Lainey Gossip looking for information about her marriage, her amazing sex life, or her superior child-free lifestyle, but she manages to sneak that information into whatever story she can. Something is afoot with that marriage. I think on her podcast with Sasha she paints herself as “such a catch” in comparison to her husband. I don’t think she’d feel secure in that marriage if he worked outside the home. She’s also obsessed with making herself sound very “cool girl” with the bondage, masturbation and porn references. I don’t know if this is a rebuke to marriages that aren’t child-free but I think she sounds defensive when she blathers on about her union. Also, Kathleen is desperately needed, she’s a good writer and the newer hires aren’t up to snuff. I like Sarah but her Kristen Stewart obsession seeped unto the site and hasn’t gone away!

I can't stand Lainey. But the fact she talks about being childfree doesn't bother me. That describes me too.
Anywhere you look, especially on social media, people carry on and on about their kids, their relationships, etc. and apparently, that's perfectly acceptable.
Nevermind the fact being bombarded with that info gets tiresome after a while.
As far as her marriage is concerned, not sure of its status. I will say I don't think it's necessary to discuss your sexual peccadilloes on a blog or on social media, but what do I know? 😂

I've got no problem with childfree and it describes me too. But I find it unpleasant when people channel their own issues about their childfree status into bitterness directed at people who have kids. Lainey does that sometimes.
To me, the worst example of it in the media was Jillian Barberie, who on Good Day Live never failed to say something hostile and undercutting whenever her co-host, Dorothy Lucie, mentioned her kid. Jillian was divorced at the time and would say she hated kids and never wanted to have any and was always insulting Dorothy's life. A few years later, Jilian remarried and had a baby and then turned into one of those super obnoxious people who thinks they invented motherhood.
I'm childfree, but I don't have anything against people who have children enjoying their lives and their families.

Lainey has been suspiciously quiet about the Sussex book that just came out. One article and that's it. Meanwhile, Kaiser has basically serialized the book and makes multiple posts a day dissecting the chapters and "reading between the lines."
