I don't know where else to put this one. If you like scary movies, this 3 minute short won Best Director at the 2013 BC Challenge. Creepy and well done.

That was really well done. I was biting my fingernails the whole time. Kind of like Paranormal Activity in Three Minutes. Eek!

Buzzfeed collected some ghost stories for the upcoming release of the movie The Quiet Ones. I have never heard of these stories about the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley. Odd.

The rotating Egyptian statue one was debunked. Vibrations in the floor affected the statue's slightly curved base.

I love any ghost stories about the White House, especially people like Winston Churchill seeing Lincoln's ghost.

Yeah, so here are some creepy ass ghost stories from real, actual nurses. I expected maaaaybe one or two good ones. Instead--yowza! Content warning: some uber-scary ones in there. And I had to chuckle at how many of them ended with the nurse posting "that job didn't last too much longer!" Some things aren't worth putting up with in employment.

Working in a hospital, I know tons of ghost stories, especially from the older nurses. I haven't experienced much myself, but we do have one room in our emergency department that everyone acknowledges as being "haunted." Supposedly it was an ICU bed back when the hospital was much smaller. It's way in the back of the ER, in an area that we used to keep closed most of the time. A few years ago I was working a night shift and had to go back to that area to borrow a stretcher, when it was dark and empty. Sure enough, when I was walking into a room, a call light started going off at the desk (the call lights/bells are activated in each room by a remote control, and the bell sounds and the room number shows up on a panel at the nurses' station). I almost jumped out of my skin. The call light was for the haunted room! So, I had to go into the room and deactivate the light by myself. That was a pretty good adrenaline rush. But that's the number one story people always have with that room- the call light going off with no one in the room. The wiring and everything was checked multiple times by plant ops. Maybe not that great of a ghost story, but it was freaky as hell to me! Other people at work have stories of hearing talking, footsteps, etc. and of the room being very cold. One of my friends at work has some great ghost stories from when she was working at a much smaller hospital in the area- footsteps running towards the nursing station at night, elevator doors constantly opening and closing by themselves, everything being knocked off the counters in the med room. I love hospital ghost stories! But one thing I've learned from almost 5 years in an ER: the freakiest stories involve the living.
