I'm thinking of starting an Acorn subscription. Is it worth it? It is 100% worth it. So many great mysteries and interesting European shows too, not just UK. If you like Scandinavian shows, I will put in another plug for Black Widows, it’s not noir, just right for summer time. The first season is much better than the second, but you’ll still enjoy watching to see how things turn out. Rebecka Martinsson is wonderful too- noir. On the Brit side, there’s the fun cozy Agatha Raisin, and a darker one I don’t think we’ve mentioned, Single Handed, set on the Irish coast. Gorgeous and very rich performances. There’s tons and tons of great stuff. The only problem I have with Acorn is that I feel like it judges me when I’m bingeing- it tends to freeze up a bit. OMG AGATHA RAISIN!!! God I love that show! I had an Acorn subscription for a few months and watched that over and over. I recently cancelled and switched over to Britbox, but when the next season of Agatha comes out, I'll 100% be resubscribing

MMS recently purchased the FitBit watch. It does monitor HR, but it doesn’t require a chest band. It also tracks his movement, including distance and time. Plus, it does all the other stuff these smart watches do. He’s had it about two months and seems to like it. I believe he spent around $250 for it.
I toyed with the idea of buying one for myself, but with winter coming soon and darkness in the early A.M. when I run, I’ve moved my workouts inside on a treadmill, so its functions would be superfluous for now.

I have the fitbit ionic. I like it because it also tracks my heartrate for other workouts, not just running/steps taking.

Thanks, everyone! I did a lot of research, waited until I was out of the hormonal-shopping danger zone and then looked for a mix of reviews. I bought a watch online and it should be here by the end of the week.
I checked the local Academy sports and they sucked worse than the local Best Buy. Their sports watch display was kind of jammed between a stand filled with yoga mats and a demo elliptical, and predictably, they didn't have any of the watches I was looking at.

Their sports watch display was kind of jammed between a stand filled with yoga mats and a demo elliptical, and predictably, they didn't have any of the watches I was looking at. What watch did you decide to get? I need a new one and can't make up my mind. I got the Suunto Spartan Trainer in amber. I paid a much lower price than what's listed there, FWIW. I chose that because it had GPS, heart rate, multisport and a few other things. Also, I liked the way it looked, which was important to me because if I'm going to wear a watch, I want it to look like something stylish (per my own aesthetic). It was priced lower than the Garmin 735xt and they have very similar features. I just got it and put it on last night, so I'm still getting used to it. I saw a few reviews that also persuaded me. Drawbacks so far: I don't think it synchs with My Fitness pal, which I really don't care about right now but might be a hassle in the future. I saw reviews that said it did, so maybe I just need to sort myself out. It's also a bit heavier than I thought it would be, but I usually wear a Swatch, which is practically weightless, so I'll adjust. But so far I'm happy with it and I think it looks cool. I took it to the gym this morning and did treadmill and stationary bike stuff, and it worked great. I also set it in German, and I might change it to Danish or French later today. It doesn't take much to make me happy.

Questions:
So 2 years ago, I got an iPhone 6S. I'm not much of a phone person, but this month was the last month of my contract. I'm thinking of upgrading to an unlimited plan with AT&T (now that they seem to be more in line with Verizon's unlimited plan, and am thinking about getting an iPhone 8.
1. Does anyone have the unlimited plus AT&T plan, and if so, what are your thoughts. 2. I heard the iPhone 8 didn't really change the iPhone the way the iPhone X has, but I'm not spending a thousand bucks on a phone, and I don't want another 2 year contract with AT&T. Should I buy an iPhone 8, or just hold onto my iPhone 6S and then see if prices for the iPhone X drop in the next year?
Thanks!

I didn't go for the unlimited plan because you can't use your phone as a hotspot with that plan, and that annoyed me. There are times when I need that, and I never seem to go above my data so unlimited wasn't that important.
I got an 8plus, and it has more camera features than the 8. I would wait to see if prices drop, as the 8 didn't seem significantly different than the 6s. I was going to wait but I had issues with my phone so my hand was forced.
