I am tentatively in. I have an idea that's been knocking around in the back of my mind and am hoping that I can have enough discipline to sit down every day and get some of it out. It's my first NaNoWriMo!

I always seem to miss this and now I see it the day before starting.
I've had a couple of ideas knocking around in my head for years but doubt I could commit to getting anything down. See Saw See Saw See Saw
I do have a few more hours to decide though.
Right?

I have been telling myself to do this for 2 years now and am now on it. 6,000+ words so far, and was able to start with a lot of writing in the first 2 days thanks to November starting on a weekend.

I'm doing a Rebel Project this year (50,000 words that don't have to equal a novel or even fiction) and it's been going along like gangbusters. I should hit 25,000 by the end of the weekend, which has really energized me. It's also forced me to start work on all those 'other' writing goals I've been putting off. So, NaNoWriMo and I are friends again.

Sorry for bad double posting, but I validated on November 21. It was a good thing. Unlike National Novel Writing Month 2012, where I was completely burned out for like, a year afterward, NaNoWriMo 2014 helped me recommit to creative work.
I'll be excited to hear everyone else's reports too.

Oohhh, I was just saying I need to do something creative. But I am not sure.... how can I do it without an idea? Just write? How am I going to keep on track? HELP ME creative gods and goddesses.... Uh, yeah? There are forums to adopt plots, lots of plot generators online, and random ideas. Or, you could borrow artistically and take a classic plot and twist/modernize/flip/update/reverse/parallel-fiction it. For example, the entire genre of modern romance is basically Jane Eyre, retold. Well, I'm overstating, but it's hard not to see it once someone says that, right? There's also the fan fiction route, which is really not so terrible. I haven't committed to my plot, but I have three reasonable ideas. 1) a a campy mystery novel (risky, because I don't read a lot of mystery), 2) a novel about one of the brilliant ideas I've posted here, 3) something all deep and shit, maybe involving reincarnation. I also have a short story that I might elaborate into a novel.
