As they just won an Emmy, it reminded me to notify all that it starts tomorrow night.

It's total counter-programming. Or, in FOXspeak, red state vs. blue. Fuck FOX for thinking nobody can enjoy both football and Arrested Development. Isn't this one of the rare weeks that Monday Night Football starts at 8 eastern? (7:30, actually) Doesn't it usually start at 9 and some pre-game thingy airs on ESPN at 8? So after this week football fans can still watch AD, I think, if it keeps the same slot. In related news, Monday Night Football goes to ESPN after this season. Thought I should share.

Eight minutes in and I can't stop laughing and a solid Tom Cruise Scientology joke.

Whew! I'm glad I channel surf a lot-- I almost missed the season opener because I stopped to blankly stare at the crappiest show in the history of TV, Seventh Heaven for a few moments. Had I missed it I would be pissed.
It would be so much fun to travel back in time ten years just to tell David Cross that one day he would get to kiss the Fonz dressed up as a Blue Man while in drag.

Lucille's "Good for her!" or words to that effect had me laughing until i choked. And then to tie it all together at the end.

Lucille's "Good for her!" or words to that effect had me laughing until i choked. And then to tie it all together at the end. I laughed so hard at that. Jessica Walter is the greatest. I also loved that it was a dig at Clambo. Take that!

God. I love this show. No other show has this attention to detail - like Michael noticing that the sinkhole had spread, then the flashback to George Michael and Maeby trying to avoid each other and both ending up in the couch.
I love the little details too. Like Michael's "ahhhh, shit." when he sees GOB hiding behind the door.

My favorite was the "preview" for next week. Buster, locked in the backseat of Lucille's car, about to reverse into a lake. How is it possible that referencing Susan Smith/child murder can be so funny? Okay, if I think about it too much, it gets depressing. But on first impression, it was hilarious.

God, that was awful. Funny, but awful. Lucille is so deliciously evil. I can't believe they gave the Emmy to Doris Roberts instead of Jessica Walter.
I also loved the "Good for her" moment, with a younger Buster with more hair (and still drumming) and the pre-Lupe housekeeper in the background crossing herself.
And I love the little details on the show - like the smoke pouring from the cabin's chimney as it's flying down the highway on the back of a truck.

Okay, I love this show. This is actually the first time I've seen it. I love the fact that the dad had pictures with Saddam Hussein. I'm really glad I actually saw it. Jason Bateman is too cute in this show.
