I like the original flavor CSI and will probably watch the new one just in case it's different enough to be interesting.

Not going to lie. I'll probably watch the new one.

I was thinking I'd watch it initially to see if it's just as bad as some of the other spin-offs (and to see what Beek and Patricia Arquette bring to the table)...but I'm sure I'll be eating my words and it'll be all great. LOL

I saw the pilot, which was a one-off on original flavor CSI, and it was very good! Better than what they are trotting out on CSI of late. I wrote about in another thread (I didn't know this one existed!).
I'm in. It might be just what the franchise needs.

I saw upthread that I was having doubts about Ted Danson, but I've really come around and enjoy his character quite a bit. I can't say the same about the Cyber spin-off, unfortunately -- we were howling at Patricia Arquette's monotone-yet-overly-serious delivery. Maybe the addition of the Beek will help. We're CSI junkies, so we'll probably watch; might just be that we end up watching it in the same way we watched CSI: Miami, which is to say, as a comedy.

I watched the backend pilot of CSI that is leading up to the Cyber series and all I have to say is, "Are you kidding me?!"
Over the years I've been willing to overlook the darkened rooms of the CSI labs (no way they would ever truly be that way, but I get it's for TV lighting) and other small details, mostly because the actual meat of the original was the science and investigation process. However, this cyber thing? Who are they trying to kid? In this day and age, most internet peeps are far more advanced in just the "4% usage" that we mere mortals navigate within the world wide web and they way they talk down to the audience and the effects? I thought I was watching something from "The Net" and was waiting for Sandra Bullock to come out.
All the "digital avatar" business was beyond unbelievable, so was watching the hard drive retrieval, not to mention the ability to take a low-res photograph of a perp and have the ability to zoom in so well that you could see photos far off in the distance with their watermarks? Yeah, it's the FBI, but come on!
I'll see how the final product will be with the true pilot and with the Beek, but if it's more of what I saw from CSI original, I will most definitely skip it. Damn I miss Grissom.
