I hate the Neelys. I don't need to see you guys grope each other. Just cook good food.
I like Giada. I used to be put off by her because her smile always looked like a grimace to me, but I've warmed to her. And her recipes are pretty good for the most part.
Has anyone tried any of Ida's baking mixes? I wonder if they're any better than Pillsbury/Duncan Hines.

That's a shame. So many of their new shows are lame with really crappy hosts. They should keep the "old" talent, IMO. Agreed. I never thought Bobby Flay would be the FN talent I had the most respect for and especially not the one I had the most fun watching. I like Bobby, too! I never get the skeevy vibe from his shows that some people have mentioned. Plus, he's a dead ringer for my BF so I'm probably biased.

I have been reading Heat by Bill Buford - because someone upthread (I'm not sure where because I recently read this entire thread!) mentioned it - it details Bill's time interning in Mario's restaurant Babbo, and it talks about Mario Batali's background, etc.
I'm 3/4 of the way through, and it's just an excellent read - I'm not even that into food per se, but it's the personalities and the history that I'm really enjoying. Thanks for the recommendation!

I'm watching Barefoot Contessa and, seriously... how many gay friends does Ina have? Hee!

Lots!! My theory is that Jeffrey only lets Ina have gay male friends because he doesn't want another man luring her away for her culinary skills.

I'm finding myself liking Sunny Anderson's recipes, but she reminds me a bit of Ray Ray.

I'm finding myself liking Sunny Anderson's recipes, but she reminds me a bit of Ray Ray. Yeah, the random giggles are very annoying, but at least she's not saying "EVOO" yet. Also, I love all of Ina's hot gay friends.

Is anyone watching the current season of The Next Food Network Star? With one or two exceptions, the current crew are a bunch of duds, IMO. I wonder if they are finding it hard to recruit people for this show.

I'm watching it -- huge snoozer. Everyone appears to be so desperate. And at this point, how is Aarti not going to win?

I was shocked that Briana got the axe.
Aarti is definitely the winner, because she is wearing the same green top on each episode's confessional.
It's as if, they called her back to get her comment on each week's show.
Personally, I'm not a fan of Indian food, so I probably would not be watching her show.
