Okay, I get that this character is essentially supposed to be the embodiment of female wish fulfillment

In reference to Carrie Bradshaw...I do not wish to have a fabulous boyfriend, cheat on him, then SOMEHOW win him back, then be a bitch to him, and get him to BUY MY BUILDING, then not marry him, and on and on. I do not wish any of this.

I also do not wish to wear a white strapless bra over a black shirt/dress like she does in the one where she's a model, and then have my friend, who is apparently a very bad actress, come up and tell me how stylish I am....and then call me fuckette. Heh?

I wish I could have Miranda or Samantha's life--minus Samantha's sluttiness. At least they have careers. Or seem to.

The entire Cambios family on All My Children.

Oh yeah, I also share the Dawn hate on BUFFY. And although it deviates a bit from the point of the thread, I hated how they twisted their hapless father into a criminally neglectful jerk who couldn't be bothered to visit his girls after their mom died, so that the financial plight was sharper. And I'd rather Willow have been single for life than go near that skanky Kennedy. Talk about marrying down.

Yes! (Except I always felt that Willow deserved the awful Kennedy.) Dawn-let-me-get-kidnapped-so-I-can-throw-a-bratty-tantrum-Summers was what drove me away from the show in season 7.

No, nor do I, carrier76, but the operative word here I would stress is 'supposed'. My point was the ghastliness of Carrie Bradshaw is just another byproduct of this bullshit marketing idea of female empowerment.

And, yeah, good point, why is Carrie supposed to be so much more captivating than say, Miranda, who has common sense, wit, and, in fact, a pretty impressive job?

Word on the Dawn hate from BTVS. I couldn't stand her constant whining about how Buffy neglected her. Buffy spent her days working at a crap job so Dawn could eat and spent her nights fighting demons so Dawn could be safe. Yeah, the Buffster was a terrible sister, wasn't she?

The same goes for Dawn's whining about how the rest of the twenty-something scoobies were too busy with their college, jobs, private lives and various apocolypses to socialize with their high school chum's teenage sister. I certainly didn't expect my older sisters' friends to hang out with me when I was 15/16/17.

Just why did Dawn at 15 need a babysitter for anyway? Wasn't Buffy killing demons and dating Angel at that age?

Don't get me started on Connor on ATS. Creepy little sociopathic showkiller without a single redeeming quality, IMHO. He was even worse than Fred!

HAAATE the annoying brat! I said it upthread and I'll say it again, Connor killed the love for that show.
I'd also, like to join the masses with the Carrie Bradshaw hate. She was annoying and selfish and the only person that could rival her atrocious wardrobe is Phoebe from "Charmed".

IMHO, Ho Caine owns this thread although I believe it's actually more David Caruso hate than Ho Caine hate. Worst.actor.ever. (And that's written just as he delivers all his lines). CSI Miami would actually be watchable if not for Ho Caine.

My loathing is almost as strong for Marissa Cooper on the OC, but she was actually almost tolerable when she was with Alex. Someone needs to force a sandwich down Mischa Barton's throat - and make sure it stays down - and get her some clothes that don't look so much like my mom's outfits for a PTA meeting in 1973.

Have I posted my hatred for Jack Bauer in this thread yet? No? Well, I should have. I think the husband of Jack's current girlfriend this season said it best when he told said girlfriend: "Your boyfriend is just a thug with a badge." So true. The hatred grows with every episode.

Others have already mentioned her, but Michelle Tanner. What a piece of shit character that was. I absolutely wanted to reach through my t.v. screen and choke her during that Princess For a Day thing when the family went to Disney World. And the time Danny took away Stephanie's Counting Crows ticket and gave it to Michelle and Michelle rubbed it in Stephanie's face...oooooohhh I wished death on Michelle and Danny! And remember the episode when Danny wanted to sell the house but Michelle whined and cried and then the whole family saw the error of their ways and practically bowed down to Michelle? Hated it.

Its like David Caruso one decided one day that:

1) I will make my character the coolest cat of them all

2) I will decide to act like I'm in the cast of the Matrix instead of CS-friggin-I Miami

3) I will decide to project intensity and coolness from my very pores. If I can't do it, I am going to WILL it.

4) I.... will.... decide.... to........ speak.........in.......slow.............. motion........ every..... sentence...........for.....dramatic......effect

Honorable mention (again) goes to Grace on Will and Grace. Pseudo-neurotic-poser-wannabe. Trying hard, not quite nailing it. Very very annoying.
