Don't you mean Schwimmer as Ross playes Sobel. IMO, having Schwimmer appear is the only bad thing about BOB. Yes, my hatred of all things Schwimmer continues.

It's not from a show per se, but...Martin Sheen won several Emmys for his portrayal of President Bartlet on The West Wing. At one of the Emmy telecasts, he said in his acceptance speech, "I'd like to thank Janet, my trophy wife for the last 40 years." I thought that was lovely.

Yeah, that's a good one. The other West Wing moment I really liked was when that Dr Laura/Ann Coulter type woman was attending some event there and Jed called her on her statements about homosexuality, and she defended herself by saying it was in the Bible, and he just took her down, and then, to top it all off, told her that no one sits down while the President is standing. Ooooh, yeah. I was cheering at that one! HA!

Any time Vincent D'Onofrio lays a smackdown on some self-satisfied creep who really deserves it on Law and Order: Criminal Intent, my heart sings a happy song. Especially one time when he's confronting this millionare who's been doping his son to stop him from realizing that he has early onset Altzheimer's, and when Goren's confronting the millionare he just interrupts himself with a disgusted "Shame on you!!" Anyone else, that would sound self-righteous and cheesy - D'Onofrio, however, is a Good Actor.

Oh poorfrances, Band of Brothers had so many great moments that made you either want to cheer or cry. I have such immense love for that series.
I think my favorite cheer moment was during "The Breaking Point". After suffering horribly through the Battle of the Bulge, Easy Company has to attack the village of Foy. Their commander, Lt. D-I-K-E (CPMC won't let me type out his name the right way) is an utterly empty uniform and totally falls apart during the attack and leaves his men out in the open as sitting ducks. Captain Winters sends in the totally badass Lt. Speirs, who coolly and calmly runs into the action to relieve Lt. Rhymes-With-Pike of his command and take over. Speirs completely turns the attack around, rallies the men, runs right through the enemy lines twice without getting shot, and saves the day, all without breaking a sweat.
On a completely OT note, my younger brother has done some modeling for the artwork on the packaging of G.I. Joe action figures (not allowed to call them dolls), and the photographer he has worked with is very involved with WW II reenactments and has interacted a lot with the Easy Company vets. I was delighted to hear that Bill Guarnere is as ornery and as funny as he seemed in the BoB interviews, but sad to hear that Dick Winters is a pretty strange old bird. The photographer says that he is reserved to the point of being weird and none of the other Easy men really have a great relationship with him.

On Lonesome Dove when that asshole cavalry dude is whipping the shit out of Rick Schroeder for not giving up his horse. Tommy Lee Jones rides up, crashes his freaking horse into the cavalry guy's horse, and opens the world's biggest can of whoopass on the son of a bitch. Yeah!

There's an episode of Quantum Leap where Sam leapt into the body of a teenage girl who'd been date-raped. After the guy gets off legally, while Sam thought his mission was to get the guy convicted, the rapist comes by to try to rape "her' again. Sam tells Al (his sidekick) he knows why he's there and beats the crap out of the guy. Mission accomplished.

Arrested Development AND some random sitcom last night made fun of Julia Roberts' scene with the jewelry box in Pretty Woman. Random Sitcom also compared her to a cow.
Mad props, Random Sitcom.

On My Fair Brady when Adrienne had to bully Chris into proposing, and then when he tortured her before doing so.
They deserve each other, I tell ya.
