Interesting interview with Andy Samberg about how they created Natalie's Rap 2 last week, considering 1) the Lonely Island guys don't work there anymore, and 2) all live in LA. I still prefer the first one just because it was so unexpected at the time, but the second is good too. I'm always amazed at how quickly and how well SNL can pull together things like that.

Just learned Natalie was born Neta-Lee Hershlag. Did not know that. I watched and enjoyed both videos. Thanks, Niki!

Aside from the fact that the initial premise is flawed (the British actually won the Battle of Bunker Hill,) for me this was the best sketch last night. That was my favorite of the night. I'm not a Philadelphian, but I've always lived about 1.5 hours outside it so I still chuckled at a bunch of the references (MomMom and PopPop, Wawa, Conshocken, Schuylkill River), and I always like seeing Dratch, Fey or most anyone from their SNL era (not Fallon though). The "howwwwme" pronunciation was my favorite, I've been mocking Philly-born friends for that for decades. But corn fritters from Wawa? I practically live at Wawa, sadly, and I've never seen corn fritters on the menu. I've spent way too much mental energy wondering whether they were just saying a food that might have existed in those times or if this is a menu item I might be able to find at the Wawa near my new workplace. I love corn fritters.

Veering off topic from the latest episode, but was listening to a podcast where Macaulay Culkin was interviewed. He got to do his SNL episode with Bowie! Also, he was like eleven years old and his dad demanded that he do the entire show without cue cards. Which meant the entire cast had to do without t cue cards for the skits Mac was in. No one in the history of the show has done that since. He said that even though that they could have been assholes about it, the cast was really nice to him. He was there when it was a great cast. Hartman, Dana Carrey, Mike Myers, Victoria Jackson, Chris Rock, Chris Farley. Etc.

YAY! Chadwick Boseman is hosting SNL tonight!
DOH! They already did a Black Panther skit when Sterling K. Brown hosted...
Here's hoping they don't bring back Uncle Warthog from their last skit.

I laughed so hard at that. I agree with T’Challa; raisins are unnecessary and unwelcome in potato salad.

Black Jeopardy and the Nike workout pants for couch potatoes were hilarious.

Is there anything Chadwick Boseman can't do? Drama, action, comedy, he can sing. Mercy.
I have never related more to anything than I did to the Pro Chiller leggings thing. "And I just sit the hell down and chill in these soft pants."
Aidy Bryant is a national treasure.
