Because she wanted to passively-aggressively have Luca find out without telling him, so she could be the independent woman who's not smothering him. Ugh. I hate Sam.

If an eight year old boy is hitching at one of Chicago's busiest on ramps, someone would've stop, called the police, and waited for them to show up.
I was really disturbed by the porch collapse. That storyline actually happened in Chicago about two years ago.

I was unspoiled for that porch collapsing, so it really caught me by suprise. If I had been paying more attention to all the foreshadowing shots I should have figured it out. I was too busy being annoyed by that dingdong Morris.
The woman calling out for Ray before she fell really got me for some reason.
Poor Carter, everyone left his party, I liked the comment by the orderly about liking his beard though.
I thought that ending with Alex was stupid too. He's supposed to be about 11 but is small enough to be a six year old. Any parent would have stopped when they saw him and given him an earful.

Regarding Alex, wouldn't the folks at the bus station (remember those people that WOULDN'T SELL HIM A TICKET) have called the police? The transaction was shady enough for her credit card co. to call her, but the transit people just didn't bat an eye?
I know people can be cold bitches, but come on.
