I just watched this show for the first time tonight because my mom kept telling me about it and damn is it good! House's snarking was cracking me up the entire episode. I want to keep watching, but I guess I should wait until the second season comes out on DVD so I can just watch straight through.

I was practically rolling on the floor laughing when House hit Wilson in the leg with his cane and then accused Wilson of missing Stacy.

I am getting tired of every week being "people are manipulative/coldhearted/evil/child molestors/attempted murders/pathological liars etc." Not every human being is a piece of garbage.
I know a lot of people don't like Cameron, but I like her more than Chase, who is both a wimp and a snake, and Foreman, who is an egomaniac and really screwed her over on the article. Wilson was 100% right; House and Foreman screwed up, and they shouldn't try to rationalize it.
I hope Cuddy becomes Cameron's mentor and that the universe dishes out some karmic revenge on Foreman.

Chase is so pretty.
Every episode DOES have people who are total asses - I never noticed that, Dr. Freude. Thanks for that.

Oh my god. This is going to be the episode that earns House a place on the "Y'all Jus Jellus" thread, because I swear the fandom is having a total meltdown over the Cameron-Foreman War. Maybe I was just over at TWoP for too long, where people are going nuclear even by TWoP standards.
Anyway, I sort of liked this episode, because damn, that was a hell of a triple punch ending (between Foreman smacking down Cameron, the patient's girlfriend revealing her bunny-boiling tendencies and House calling the patient a bitch to her face), and it tied up more neatly than a lot of recent House eps. However, I also hated it because I thought the characters were written through some bizarre funhouse mirror. Yes, Cameron is annoying but she's never annoyed the shit out of me as badly as she did in this episode. Yes, Foreman is ambitious and overreaching, but they might as well have had him tie Chase to the railroad tracks this time around.

Did anyone watch House last night? I have a few questions.
How DID the kid know certain things? Did he find out about the poker game through that lady dying of cancer?
When the one doctor (what is his name? The cute one with the Australian accent...) was in the dying lady's house, he sees a shadow outside the door while calling House. Who was that person?
The kid had herpes i guess. I didn't realize that it gave him special powers to 'read' people and be so insightful to make some of those profound statements about people, but oh well. My question is, they found some tumors in his brain and were going to operate. Then at the end when he is 'cured', they suddenly don't care about the brain tumors? They said that the tumors needed to come out or he would die. So they let him walk out of the hospital herpes-free, but with the tumors? Weird.

Wilson told the dying lady about the poker game, and she told the kid.
I don't think they ever explained what the shadow outside the door was.
I think they decided that the tumours weren't actually dangerous. Or something - they did talk about how people can have those tumours and never even know it. But I don't think they really clarified at the end whether the tumours had to come out or not.
I don't think the herpes gave him special powers (heh), he's just a very observant kid who is good at reading people, like House.
I've got to say, this show is starting to annoy me with the Sex=DISEASE AND DEATH. An awful lot of their patients seem to be getting sick from illicit sex. Right up there with CSI and how frequently women having sex get murdered on that show.

Ah yes ! When it becomes obvious that the writers have 'issues' then the whole show loses some of it's appeal. Don't forget how all patients lie too!
