Could CowLip be any more clueless. Seriously, this show is a joke, I watch it for the same reason I watched Buffy. It used to be good and I have convinced myself that if I keep watching it will get better. What CowLip should be doing is telling a good story that makes sense about the lives of the characters. Not making all the characters change overnight into supersluts and super domesticated hetero wannabes, because they don't like how the election went. I don't know anybody gay or straight who is extreme as Brian or as domesticated as Monty and Eli. Give me a break, but when he says stuff like this it is clear that he is more interested in making point, than creating good television. It's okay to explore real life events but do it so it make sense. You wanna talk about gay adoption, fine create a reasonable, realistic storyline that shows two of your characters trying to adopt a child, and being rejected because they are gay. That makes sense, what they have done over the past 3 years doesn't.

Oh, for the love of GOD! Yes. Yes, I did see it. And I remember it from the much funnier Old School with Andy Dick doing the same THING. A YEAR EARLIER. Wow. Those guys really are filled with stupid.

It's Joss Whedon all over again. Does CowLip even watch their own show? QAF is great when it's fun and campy. But when they try to tackle serious issues everything just falls apart.
It seems to me like the writers have a checklist of issues that they want to get through. The show only has 14 episodes a season so they try to cram a million different issues into that short time period. A good example is Brian's cancer whch lasted for about 3 episodes! Or how about Ben's steroid storyline? Do the writers really expect up to believe that he got heavy into steroids and then just decides to stop just because Michael got in his face about it? They don't sit down and talk about the issues that made Ben start using and they never mention his drug abuse again. He just decides to quit and that's that. Lord. And don't get me started on Justin's Pink Posse storyline.
It's one thing to tackle these issues. But it's quite another to do it and get it right. Of course if anyone dared say this to CowLip you'll probably get labeled a homophobe.

Exactly. I don't think CowLip watch their own show, if they did they would have changed it. CowLip much like Joss Whedon have their heads so far up their asses they can't see straight. Seriously, QAF isn't a good show, it is not a realistic portrayal of gays or human beings for that matter. It is joke. Like a said before, I watch because I hope it will get better, and I am clearly a glutton for punishment.

I don't think CowLip watch their own show How true. And not only that, I don't think CowLip watches any show or at least they'd have some general grasp on how to keep their characters' backstories straight. As Kathy1977 pointed out, cancer? Resolved in 3 episodes. Drug addiction? Resolved in about one episode (in the case of Ben; about 3 in the case of Ted). Pink Posse? There's just no explanation whatsoever for that. Emmett and his revolving door of successful careers? "I'm a shop clerk! Now I'm a porn star! Now I'm a caterer! Now I'm a Queer Eye!" Whatever. It's like CowLip has the attention span of an petulant child. I'm still baffled by the "Meet the New Ted, Same as the Old Ted" stunt they pulled on the last episode.

On a lighter not it amuses me to no end that the three main characters are all "the third" as in Gale M. Harold III, Randy C. Harrison III, and Hal Sparks III. That just cracks me up, but hey I find amusement where I can.

That interview was something else -- "well, if anyone dislikes our show, it's because they have shame issues." I am ashamed but as a writer more than a gay man. I can't believe they had the audacity to give us Ted's non-makeover. That's the thing that really gets me about the show is the writers/creators/etc. have the audacity to pull b.s. like that and think we'll accept it. (I also realize that the simple solution would be to slightly age Scott in the prior episodes and then a return to normal would make him look younger).
Dear Brian: We get it. Monogamy is so evil and lame and what straight people want us to do. But if your friends are in a relationship and happy, shouldn't you simply be glad for their happiness?* Your constant harping about how horrible monogamy is makes you as narrow-minded as any homophobe. Also, being slutty isn't a daring political act, it's simply being slutty. And I totally called the Gucci, gucci/Prada, prada joke, so maybe Justin wasn't finishing your sentences last week because you're a couple so much as you're really predictable.
* -- Why are we suppossed to care about these people if they behave so horribly to their friends? I wanted Lindz and Ben to run away to a happier place.

I am ashamed as a member of the non-moron race.

To paraphrase Belize in Angels in America, Brian Kinney & CowLip are so full of piping hot crap that the mere mention of their names draws flies.
