Nah, that was the one moment that rang of truth in the entire episode. Debbie was entirely right -- the only thing you can do with guys just starting to roar through their second adolescence is to wish them well and walk away, and Auntie Em's been around the block enough times to have had more than his fair share of encounters with people like that.
Though I do wonder how many of them were 40-year-olds trying to pass themselves off as 33.

I'm only sad that we never got to see more Brian/Linds interaction and more details about their past together. I think they have more chemistry then Brian/Justin. Yep. What the heck was the story with them anyway? They dated, or had sex in college? I'm not entirely clear on the exact details, but I know I remember her saying at one point that she had been in love with him. IMO, she's totally still into him--of course he has SpecialSuperSecretSexy Brian Powers that cause everyone within 10 miles of him to fall deeply and totally in love...but, yeah. Linds and Brian? THAT would be a story I'd be interested in seeing.

Lindsey has always had a thing for Brian. And not in a "just friends" way. Supposedly they did kind of fool around in college but the show never elaborated on just how far it went. I know Lindsey had a crush on Brian in season 1. I always had the feeling that if Brian asked her to she would leave Melanie and run off with him.
Whatever happened Brian moved on and Lindsey never really did. And I think Mel knows it but they never talk about it. I would have loved to see a scene where Mel questions Linds about her true feelings for Brian. Especially after the Sam debacle in season 4.
I think Lindsey is bisexual.

Fine, I'll be the first: He's 33, leave him alone!!
Those flowers from China were the worst. Dude, if you need special flowers for your husband-to-be to love you forever, you should worry.

I thought the flowers thing was hilarious. Especially when Emmett suggest golden petunias instead. Justin's such a trophy wife, I love/hate that kid.
Ha! You are too wrong for this, and yet too right...
I've always thought that Linds was the straightest lesbian ever. Like being gay was something she didn't mind and it was the only way she could think of to rebel. I think season one was extreme with the Brian love so I'm glad they toned that down, but I definitely think that Brian is in love with Linds and vice versa.
And what was up with the kiss between Brian and Mikey? Now y'all know I'm a Brikey shipper (shut UP!), and so it was sweet, but then Brian gave him this look and I'm like, "whoa, creepy much?" I'm going to be sad when this is all said and done, all I know is that it better go out with a bang. Preferrably involving Super Zen Ben and his guns of steel.
*** Does anyone know how much Cyndi Lauper would charge for the Stop Prop 14 event? Thanks!***

I went to Yahoo! News to search for articles on the show's Series Finale, and this was all I could find.
Who thinks that? Other than the show's creators?

They also forgot to mention it's politically engaged in dumbness.
And arguably should really be replaced with debatably...

From that same article, I think this is a little misleading as well:
Considering that parts of that article compare the US version to the original UK version, I can't help but wonder if with that comparison of 10 episodes to 83, they're trying to say that the US version was better/more successful because there are eight times as many episodes, but I think to say that would be misleading, because that's the way most British TV shows work. "Absolutely Fabulous" only made 6-8 episodes each season, and there were several years between the third and fourth seasons (or fourth and fifth, I can't remember). British TV shows don't use as many writers as American shows do, and that's one of several reasons why their shows don't make 20 episodes a year like ours do.
Anyway, I rented Season Three Volume One on VHS the other day (the DVD was checked out or something), and the tape snapped in my VCR when I was rewinding it, so UGGH, I didn't get to see how Brian responded to Justin leaving him for Ethan.
I'm really entertained by watching Brian and Justin's whole fucked up relationship. I don't know why--it's just so bizarre, and I find it intriguing.

Politically engaged?
Let's see, we've had the worst timing ever to make a terrorism allegory (yeah, I'm still offended -- if CowLip were so politically engaged, they would have said something), the "hey, let's all us liberals move to Canada" idea which died 2 years ago, and inventing a piece of legislation that is comparable to Nazism!
Yeah, that's just amazingly politically savvy. Oh and going with this new political, moralistic streak is about four seasons too late.

Looks like they are rereleasing season 1. Starting August 23 it will be released at a price dropped from $118.00 all the way down to $49.99!!!!
I'm happy as hell about this because I loved season 1 and it's the only season I don't have. It's ironic because today I was just going to cave and pay the full $120.00. So now I can just wait.
