Who gets the mirrorball if there's a switch? You just know the wheels are turning to somehow get Derek back with Meryl. But I disagree that he doesn't have a ringer. Prosthetic legs? They're not going to play that one for ALL it's worth.

Derek's partner has a sympathy angle TPTB will milk, but an athlete isn't a ringer necessarily, though being young and having experience with practicing hard helps. She's a snowboarder, not an ice skater/dancer or gymnast. There were rumors of Derek being partnered with an amputee and the speculation ran to the ballroom dancer the show profiled shortly after the Boston Marathon bombing. She wouldn't have been a "star", but the show has a loose definition of the term.

And she doesn't have a huge built-in fan base to exploit for votes either (AHEM Amber Riley.) I doubt that there's much overlap between People Who Watch Snowboarding and People Who Watch DWTS.

Oh please oh please find some reason for Billy Dee to dress as Lando Calrissian and dance to the Disco version of the Star Wars theme...

Still bummed about Tristan and from the sounds of it, I don't think we'll be seeing him anymore.
I don't know who to be excited about. Val gets another ringer-y person (Danica has allegedly taken ballroom lessons in the past. Sharna and Charlie will probably be good. Peta gets another hot young guy to dance almost naked with (and she's supposedly dating this one?). I don't see Tony and NeNe or Karina and her partner lasting long.

I'm actually looking forward to see what Drew Carey can do. He moved pretty well during the musical numbers on the Drew Carey Show.

And he's with Cheryl, so he has a good chance of sticking it out for a while. If he gets someone decent after the swap I think he could go pretty far.

Aw, dammit, I don't want to watch this show again, but I'm sort of interested in seeing Davis & White. I wonder how it'll play out with their fanbase's votes split.
I was also sort of bummed when I heard that Erin Andrews is coming on as replacement co-host. I got to like her when I watched Evan Lysacek's season, and I want better things for her. (Which is not to say that this is a bad thing for her.)
Whether or not I watch this season will probably all come down to what it's scheduled against.

I know. I vowed not to watch this show again after the judges screwed over Evan Lysacek in the final so that Derek/Nicole Whatserface (Pussycat Doll) would win.
I want to see Davis/White, too, but maybe I'll just watch their dances online. It would be interesting to see how Maks/Meryl work together. I'm not familiar with Charlie's pro (she joined after I stopped watching), but Charlie is just adorable.
