I take back everything I said about it after watching the pilot. Oh, my, god, was the third episode a snorefest.

That's funny, because I thought the one before last was a giant snoozefest, but I liked the last one.

Oh how I wish more people would watch this show. I watch it, so that's one more. I like many of the actors, including the guy who plays Egan (who was Phlox on Enterprise) and Kim Raver. The guy who plays Jeremy is too girly looking for me, plus he's whiny and gets on my nerves. So does his ex-girlfriend. She's someone I would hate if I had to work with her. I can't say why, but there you have it. What with the good brother even agreeing to do the bank heist with Randall. That doesn't make sense. And how did Randall turn out half-way decent when his mother is white trash and his brother is a sociopath? Inquiring minds want to know. Yep, Wednesday nights are fully booked. Jericho, Lost, The Nine.

I don't know if this will explain it or make it more confusing, but in the pilot the good brother (Lucas?) seemed to be the one in charge and planning the whole thing, while Randall was the one who was just tagging along. None of that really makes sense in context right now, but that's why I love this show -- we'll get to find out what changed later.
Also, I think a little something might have happened between Lucas and Lizzie. When she went to visit him, he knew she was pregnant, so she must have told him, but not anyone else, during the heist. I don't think it was neccesarily something romantic, but I think they at least bonded to a certain extent.

I really love this show. So surely it will be canceled.
Still, 8 million viewers isn't a terrible number. I just want ABC to stick with it through the season so we can find out what happened inside the bank.
Tonight's episode was much slower paced than the previous ones, but I don't mind that. I like getting to know the characters, like Nick feeling the pressure of everyone depending on him, and the guilt for what went wrong early in the standoff. And the more Tim Daly, the better.

I'm watching it and I still like it, but a lot less than my hugely adoring reaction after the first episode. A lot less.
One thing which bothers me is how these people are *so* involved in each others' lives. I realise that may be a common reaction for some who have experienced a hugely traumatic event, I realise such experiences make one bond and can also change one, and I know it's a necessary underpinning to the plot device but... really, they're starting to stretch my credulity. There is simply *NO* way a high-powered litigator is going to tune out the judge at a critically important motion hearing, then make one comment, leave it to her very junior second chair, and walk out of the courtroom merely to take a phone call (for the umpteenth time that day) from some fellow hostage.
It's so unrealistic that I've been struggling ever since. Before I even watched this show, I read a NY Times article about how WhatsHerFace changes and becomes softer, as well as how Randall experiences such remorse that it's a reverse Stockholm Syndrome reaction.
Okay, I get that they changed. So they want to be involved and care about the others, fine. But being totally unprofessional and risk a massive career blow because EVERY. SINGLE. THING. comes second to the smallest issue from one of those fellow hostages? It's unlikely. I know people process things differently and that it isn't always an all-or-nothing thing between complete collapse or total denial, but I still find it hugely unrealistic and annoying.

Anybody think Eva will turn out to really be in on it after all? I kind of do. Well, actually, I'm not really sure, but I never take anything at face value anymore.
If Tim Daly gets any hotter I think I might melt into a puddle. I watched with my sister and she refused to believe he was 50.

Nah, I think it would be too confusing if it ended up "Eva was an innocent victim ... But wait! maybe she was involved ... no, she wasn't ... oh, yes she was!" Tim Daly is all kinds of hot no matter what his age.
