God that was good! I didn't see the twists coming. Going to rewatch.

It was deliciously good! And very much worth the wait, considering the rather dreary line up the BBC had during the holidays. AbFab followed suit and it was quite a let down after a brilliant Sherlock.

I'm not loving the new Ab Fab, though it's better than the last series. The first episode was better, I thought. But after the initial run (the first three series) it felt like the show lost the touch of sweetness and lightness it needed, and just became genuinely nasty.

I missed most of Sherlock! I had to go rescue a family member, and it's not up on Project Free TV yet. Plus I missed the first few minutes due to a nap, so I have no idea how the cliffhanger ended...
That said...I did LOVE Sherlock's outfit.

You know, there should be rules against that many puns in the first five minutes...
Once again, poor Molly. Having been Molly at one point in my life, <<I would have had no problem with her decking Sherlock at the Christmas party; and I imagine that no one else in that room would have minded. >>
The end was a bit odd. <<Did Sherlock help stage a fake excecution video, or went all the way out to Karachi to spring her? What the hairy hell would a dominatrix be doing in Pakistan anyway? I thought SOP was hooking up in Dubai or Bahrain instead...>>>

Based on an interview at the BFI available on YouTube following their screening of the first episode last month, Moffat and Gatiss mentioned that their favourite movie is "The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes" and, watching it now, am smiling at all the shout-outs "Scandal in Belgravia" gave to that movie.
I want to know whether the 1895 mystery will be addressed later in the series.
Addendum: Have you checked out johnwatsonblog.co.uk? It's a hoot, the view counter stuck at 1895 and Mrs Hudson asking in the comments section if the boys would like some hot chocolate brought up to them.

Oh, that was excellent. The case was a bit complicated, but they pulled everything together in the end. BTW, didn't like the ending. The show could have ended in the house with Mycroft and I would have been fine.

The show could have ended in the house with Mycroft and I would have been fine. Agree on all counts. All the twists and turns were fun, but I didn't care for the ending either. The reason is as soon as Mycroft said that of course she was dead, she would have needed someone like Sherlock to get her out of that mess and obviously he wasn't there, I thought "Meh. He was totally there and he saved her." So the ending didn't surprise me at all. Mrs. Hudson continues to be awesome. And if Molly punches Sherlock in the balls in the next episode, she'd be fully justified in doing so. Move on, darling. You can do better.

If his reaction is anything to go by, Lestrade may be worth her time, and the fic is probably being written as we speak. I really don't get what they are trying to do with the character of Molly. Are they trying to show how much Sherlock is in his head and tuned out with regards to relationships or is this a dig at women who dare to seek relationships?
Have to admit that scene was a little too close to an experience of my own. At least Molly had a room full of people giving Sherlock the "that was beyond 'not good' you twat" look.
