Am I the only one watching this? I was shocked and saddened by last night's show.

I knew that Doug had died because it was all over the thread at TWoP. The episode where he was training his former partner and talking about his illness had just aired when I read it. I was shocked because I would have expected his ex to go before him. Doug always seemed like the nicest one of the bunch, and it's very sad that he passed away.

He seemed so healthy, I am also shocked that it was the flu. Did he keep training and running around while he had a bad flu that it dehydrated him so badly? I'm kind of baffled at HOW he died.

The flu is a lot more serious than most people think. And there are multiple strands of it, some of which are shockingly lethal. People throw the term around, like "Oh, I have the flu" when really all they have is a bad cold. If you truly have the flu, you're in bed for a good week, and possibly more. And can't forget that the worst epidemic in history was the outbreak of the flu in the early twentieth, when millions of people died (many of them perfectly healthy otherwise). (/nursing student)
Doug seemed like such an incredible person. The episode last night was the only reality show that made me tear up.

Anyone catch the Season premiere? All in all, pretty boring, I thought, I don't think they should've kept it going, but whatevs. I didn't think it was possible to hate Jackie more than I already did, but she has become even more detestable. HATE. HER. She's managed to hire some really yucky people this season, that Hulk fitness model guy is absurd--I love that he brought a tranny model to the dinner party and everyone was going on about how "hot" she was. THEN The Jackster has the nerve to talk about how it is unprofessional to date clients. Um... OK. You are the epitome of a professional, Jackie. Yep. That leads me to the Rebecca situation. My most hated character on this show may be Jackie's therapist. Total hack. She called Rebecca, whom she never met, a narcissist??? She called someone a narcissist with Jackie sitting in front of her, with a straight face? Jeez.
ETA: Best line of the show? At the dinner party, after Jackie and her gal pal were inappropriately macking on each other at the table, Peeler says "There's only so much lesbian kissing people can take."

I started watching this show again - the first one was kind of boring but it picked up last night. Do you think Jackie fired Brian for good or do you think she will hire him back? He acted like a jerk but I didn't think she would fire him.

Jackie handled that situation horribly last night. I grant you, Peeler is an asshole, but his client came to him and complained about the overheard breast implant comments. He had every right to want to talk about it to Jackie. For her to just give him a bitchy "I'm not talking about this with you" made me want to punch her. She could've said something like "I apologized to her fiancee, but I would be more than happy to speak to her personally about this" would've been better.

I agree that Jackie handled the situation poorly. She strikes me as a person who will never admit to being wrong. She was clearly uncomfortable when Brian brought it up - I think because she knew it wasn't right. She likes her office manager and so she stood by her even though it was terribly unprofessional of the woman to make those comments. Jackie does not like Brian & so she won't give him any slack.
That said, how many of us work for that type of boss, you either adjust to it or you leave. You cannot win and I think Brian should have realized that he wasn't going to get anywhere with Jackie. If he provoked her without having another job in the wings, then he was just being dumb.
Jackie is becoming more and more unlikeable. Good thing she's rich because I'm thinking she probably doesn't have too many friends.

Jackie's blog about last night's episode. Comments are running about 95% against her.

ITA, It was also very convenient that that none of these "comments" were actually shown, so Jackie can just pawn the blame off on Lisa. Speaking of which, there is something about her that just screams "failed actress." I have no doubt that she was cast on the show specifically to stir up drama. The whole firing scene spiraled into a giant game of telephone with Rebecca and Erin running around like a bunch of over-grown middle schoolers.
