It always cracks me up when the civilian commentator sounds like in Fred Willard in Best In Show, and Lestor Holt is not disappointing.

I warched the Working Group last night. They always get me misty, because they do so much to help people in everyday to dire circumstances. All they want in return is good food, a nice warm place to sleep, and lots of love (aw). I love all of them, but I really dug the Neapolitan Mastiff and the Anatolian Shepherd. The German Shepherd used to be in the Working Group, but I believe is now in the Herding Group. We had the best German Shepherd growing up; she was such a good, loving, and devoted protector. Her name was Ralph. Seriously.

That Dandie Dinmont looks alarmingly like Bruce Villanch.
Oh God, that KILLED me. "I know that I am a good dog." Jesus. But good for Pedigree for matching contributions. I donated $50.

Two poodles going for Best in Show. Meh. Poodles are ok, but they seem to be over-represented in Best in Show competitions. And I have to keep telling myself, "That haircut is not the dog's fault." Hee! I'm the same way. Poodles just make me angry and it's because of the stoopid foofy haircut. They could be the sweetest dogs in the world and I'd never know because I won't go near anything that looks like that. I actually had to walk away from this a couple times last night because those darn Pedigree commercials were making me cry and if I had to watch one more I was probably going to go to their website and hand over the balance of my checking account to them. I plan on donating something, but when I am more emotionally stable. I noticed on the commerical that it looked like Pedigree will be matching donations received during the month of February.

BWA! Yeah, I probably should've done this.
Did you catch him talking about the St. Bernard? "I think he should have one of those little barrels under his chin."

Two poodles? Ugh. I'm sorry but toy poodles have weird faces. Unfortunately, I saw an article that Vivi's still missing.
It always looks so odd when the handlers are having the dogs walk on their toes for that prancy effect (I don't know if I described that correctly, but it seems sort of analogous to a model's walk on the runway as opposed to when she's just walking down the street.) I always like seeing the English bulldogs and their rolling gait and the giant breeds and how they lumber along.
Go Sporting Group!

Oh, no. Westminster time? My husband's step-sis is supposedly showing her dog, today, I believe. If that pooch wins anything, there will never be an end of the doggy talk. *sigh*

I like that, too. No frou-frou there! And every English bulldog I've ever met was an absolute sweetie, so seeing them makes me happy.
The dog that never fails to crack me up when it's being walked in the ring is the Pekinese. They look like tribbles.
treasure, what kind of dog is your husband's step-sis showing?

Vizsla, Vizsla, rah, rah, rah!And in spite of their magnificence in the field and agility ring and their extremely sweet, affectionate nature, Vizslas (proper plural: Vizslak) never win either. FEH to the judges. Maybe tonight... (they're in the Sporting group.) Tears were also shed at our house during the "good dog" commercials. Nearly all of our pets have been rescues of one sort or another. The need is so great. Whenever the poodles appear, HubNoir quotes Jennifer Coolidge's character from "Best in Show," when discussing the purpose of the puffs of hair on the poodles' legs: "Those act as flippers." [/idiotic babygirl voice] Oh, and Dachshunds? Smell good. And Vizslas? Smell just like 'em!
