I propose ET change its name to Scientology Tonight. It seems that everytime I turn it own, they're giving Tom Cruise or some other clam carte blanche to promote their wacky cult.
This show just irritates the heck out of me to begin with - do any of the people who work on that show have any real journalism credentials?
I'd be shocked, shocked, I tell you, if anyone on any of those shows knew anything about telling the truth.

I can't stand ET. They spend most of the show showing us 'what's coming up next'. Its just one big commercial for itself and very little content. Complete timewaster.

And they're obsessed with anorexics one minute and then the next how the new celeb mom lost 30 pounds of baby fat or how they "learned" so much wearing a fat suit.

Mary Hart is the worst celebrity kiss ass in the universe too. Also, why should I care if they take photo booth shots with "celebrities"? They always spend like 10 minutes on the damn photo booth.
I also love the "exclusives". Mary Hart was like "Tomorrow I'll have an EXCLUSIVE interview with Rod Stewart to talk about his appearance on American Idol. He's only talking to me!" Um, you're the only one that wants to talk to him.
I admit that I always found ET to be a guilty pressure but quickly began to hate them when they did their Mary Kay Letourneau Love Fest. This also coincided with "The incredible starving woman" that they would parade around.
Word. They'd be like "Later in the show, we'll revisit Suzy, a 62 pound woman who is dying in her quest to be thin. But up next! Can Gwenyth lose the baby fat? We'll find out how stars are trimming down the FAT!"

Can someone explain to me why on every single one of these entertainment programmes (ET, Access Hollywood, E Canada), the hosts shout? These people have mics, yet they all insist on yelling their bits of useless info at the viewer. Tone it the fuck down!

These shows lost me long ago and I try to avoid the commercials for them too, they just make me sick. Especially when they cover stuff like the Scott Peterson trial. Ugh, do your celeb ass kissing if you must, but to cover a horrible murder on a show dedicated to entertainment? That just disgusts me beyond words. How is that entertainment?

I used to watch ET (and E! News in the Kmetko days) religiously. Then I graduated from high school. I went to college, did not have my own TV, and really...I wasn't missing much. I sifted through my old tape collection this weekend, from when I was about 15 and taped all the interviews my favorite stars did (okay, okay, I know I was nerdy!) and was surprised by the amount of time they devoted to, y'know, real actors and not Paris Hilton. Compared to the shit they air these days, Mary Hart & co. deserved Peabodys for their journalism.
There's also just wayyy too many of these shows on the air these days. I mean you really can't swing a cat without hitting an ET clone. The worst part is, they all cover the same thing. And I'm not as intrigued by speculation on Brangelina nuptials as I used to be by, let's say, Cate Blanchett or Ewan McGregor discussing their new movie.

Mary Hart has scared me shitless ever since I learned her voice causes seizures. That and the fact that I think she is a robot. Nancy O'Dell too. There's just something so...mechanic about them.

I used to watch ET as a kid when it first came on and I always liked how when a major star died, usually old Hollywood, they would devote the whole show to their career. Now they are lucky if they get a brief mention.

What cracks me up about these shows is how one will brag about how they have an "exclusive" interview with some celebrity then you turn to another channel and they will have an "exclusive" with the exact same celebrity! Where I live ET, E News Daily, Access Hollywood, and some entertainment show on CNN all come on at 7pm.
I cannot watch Entertainment Tonight. The ass kissing is out of control.
