OUCH! Trump Fires Carolyn!Well, it sounds like it was deserved, and maybe a long time coming. On the one hand, you could say that Trump was the one who put Carolyn in the public eye, then axed her when she couldn't perform one of his top roles in his organization AND be a star. But I had a bad feeling about this from season two onward. She just seemed really overly hostile towards the contestants from that time on. Season one, she was icy, yes, but smart, and sharp, with great intuition. But she seemed to have had a real disdain for the apprenti from season two onward. YMMV, just my two cents. I also thought it was interesting when Ivanka was brought on board to sub now and then - to me, she did a much better job than Carolyn. I wondered how that would play out - now it's pretty obvious that the better person will be in that role of TV sidekick. It's a shame - I actually did buy her book, "Carolyn 101", and it's very smart, very sharp, and you have to wonder how such a smart lady could let all this go to her head, if that's indeed what happened.

Sounds to me like The Donald doesn't like anyone else to be in the spotlight.

I doubt that. I'm not saying the guy isn't an egomanic, because he is. But really, he'd have to fire everyone in order to just get the spotlight all to himself. Also, I don't think he'd have had sidekicks in there to begin with if he just wanted it to be all him.
And remember, she ran one of his biggest properties for over ten years, and she wasn't just fired from the TV show - she was fired from her JOB job. So it sounds more like she was screwing up left and right the more popular she got. Again, only my opinion, but you could kind of see it in the way she acted towards the contestants after season one. I just adored her after season one, but she was really abrasive after that.

Now that she's fired, will Carolyn get a final interview in the taxi cab?

I just adored her after season one, but she was really abrasive after that. I disagree. That's a lot of speculation and it's exactly the conclusion the Donald wants people to reach. Carolyn does not strike me as someone who can't handle a busy schedule. If that were true, she wouldn't have ever been able to do her job pre-Apprentice-tv-show. As for her tone or abrasiveness during the tv show, we don't know that she wasn't advised to take that position, or that she didn't particularly like doing the show, or that perhaps she was trying to get through to these people to teach them a thing or two and help them. We don't KNOW anything except - Carolyn is wicked smart, very accomplished, and very skilled. We have seen NOTHING to warrant a firing. So...after several years on tv, all of a sudden she's popular and now Trumps daughter wants in. So, out goes Carolyn. Ivanka smarts will be a reflection of Trump, so that's perfectly okay and allowed. Hell, Ivanka posed in skimpy photos but THAT'S okay. God forbid Carolyn give a speech - that's so NOT okay. Right. Give me a freaking break Donald. This is definitely about Donald not wanting an underling competing for the spotlight or acting as any sort of authority on business. The only thing I will ever believe Carolyn was guilty of is being smart enough to be successful with or without Trump and of making her own money, therefore, he doesn't control her income or her reputation or career. That would piss him off and he won't be having any of that. Particularly not from a woman. Now, his kids can do it, but his wives, employees...err no. Look at what he did to Ivana and that model he dated briefly during/after/before the Marla/Ivana years. The man destroys any woman who dares be smarter or as savvy as he isor - WORSE - who speaks her mind without asking him if it's okay first and asking what she should say and how she should say it. He can't stand the competition or the lack of control. I was frankly really surprised he hired that Bill Rancic guy because that's another one who isn't afraid to speak his mind and share his smarts. I keep waiting to hear of his firing but apart from grumbles from both him and Trump, they are going along fine. Why is that? They're both men. Trump is a slimy guy. I know his type too too well.

Anyone watch last night? I was actually expecting the worst, but thought it was a pretty decent premiere. I think somewhere, Frank is STILL talking.
It's sad that Ivanka had to go and get herself ginormous boobs. She's a lovely, articulate, and intelligent girl -- despite her affiliation with Trump -- and was perfectly fine the way she used to look.

Are they fakes? I always thought she was a bit more on the solid side to begin with (meaning healthier and not skeletal).
I pretty much liked it last night. As for the firing, really, I don't know who you'd go with in that situation. Both Martin and Frank are pretty much idiots - maybe if Frank's team loses again, they can unload him!
I really like the newer twists - still "meh" on the whole L.A. thing, but I like the idea of making the losers sleep in a tent, and I REALLY like having the winning PM in the board room as Viceroy #2. That's a cool twist, and I think Heidi handled herself very well.

The show was better than I expected. Ivanka is absolutely stunning - and she seems to be a very nice young woman too. Brains, beauty and money - lucky girl!
Frank talks too much. he will talk himself right out of of job sometime in the next few weeks. Martin was a pompous ass, I was not sorry to see him go. Heidi seems like a good candidate. I don't know about Tim - maybe, maybe not.
