I adore this show. It screens at some ridiculous hour like 11.30pm, but I always stay up for it.

I'm watching the first episode right now. They're starting from the beginning again on Showcase (Mon-Thurs or something like that), and the new season (six) airs on Sunday nights. There are only six episodes, though; boo!

I was somehow getting Showcase until yesterday, and looking forward to seeing the Boys again - and now it's gone! Frakkin' stupid cable company from hell. *grumble grumble*

Is the Xmas special worth getting? I'm asking because the DVD's are all very expensive, sadly.

I would say it's definitely worth getting. Plus the last I saw it I think it was around $14, so it's not outrageous, unlike the rest of the seasons. And you get a Conky puppet (if they're still packaging them like that)!

It explains a fair bit of background, which is nice.

And I don't think it comes with a puppet. What is that, may I ask? (Bear in mind I've only seen a few episodes.)

What!? I guess it was on sale at Christmas. I haven't actually seen the episode(s?) with Conky in it/them, but I gather he is Bubbles' ventriloquist puppet, so the DVD comes with a Conky finger puppet... unless it doesn't anymore.

$23 isn't that bad. But then you're at about a third of the price of a season, so do you wait and save up, or buy the cheaper one... Hm. Well, it's still a good special that I think it worth having -- if only for Ricky's speech in the church, a touching scene with Bubbles, the history between Randy and Leahy (and Randy in an elf suit... sort of), and Ricky's confusion over God vs. Santa. So yeah, I'd say it's worth it, assuming you don't need that $23 for food or anything.

Oh hell, I want a Conky ( I thought it was Corky? But then I dont pay attention ) puppet! The episode i saw with him had me in hysterics. Bubbles is a bit scary with that evil bugger on his hand.

After reading what you've all said about the show, I watched it tonight for the first time. I liked it. Very Canadian. And Julian is actually pretty hot. He always carries his drink wherever he goes? God help me but I know some people in real life who are just like some of these characters.

Yay! I am glad you liked it. I have friends who think it's stupid, but they suck (uh... for other reasons).

You know, I'm actually starting to wonder if the guy I saw in the restaurant a couple weekends ago WAS the actor who plays Julian. It could be... sure, it's the wrong coast, but you never know. If it turns out the actor has a pregnant girlfriend/wife, then I will know for sure.

Well, didn't the 6th season just start? maybe he was out west promoting the show. He is handsome but then again I love dark hair, dark eyed men. They are my weakness.
