So, I watched my first episode of Passions the other day because The Soup ran a hilarious clip and I just had to check out this soap. And after watching one episode the DVR is now set to record it every day.
I'm actually kind of shocked that it's got so many pages at TWoP and, for our message board, so many pages as well. I thought for sure it was a satire of other soaps. Or a spoof meant in a funny, ironic sort of way. I had no idea people followed it like any other soap opera. It's all just so weird and, imho, the acting is soooooooooo bad and the storylines are just all over the place. I'm kicking myself now for not having watched this sooner and can only hope that the soap network starts airing this from the beginning. My sister and I already have a drinking game planned for the next time we watch.

I like to think that Passions is a parody of soap operas except that we the audience know it while the actors and writers don't.

I think that's the best assessment of the show I've ever read.

Sorry this is really old news that I've been meaning to link, but kept putting off, Passions moving to Direct TV. Well besides being really lazy, I have to admit that I was very disappointed because when it continues on Direct TV, that means that there will never be a resolution, at least when NBC cancelled it, and I thought that no one would actually pick up the soap, I figured at least something would finally be wrapped up on this show without being dragged out even more. I heard that JeRK might not be writing it, or that he's being given a time table so that if things don't improve then he and/or the show is done for. I thought he was the executive producer, so I'm not sure how that will work, but I can't wait to see him finally gone from soap writing forever. Of course, watch him turn around and win an Oscar or something for writing because I always thought Akiva Goldsmith was one of the worst screenwriters ever around the time of Lost in Space, back when I watched movies on a regular basis at the theater, and then I forget about him until he wins an Oscar.

No Direct TV here in Canada, so I hope they resolve one thing, anything, before the show disappears forever.

All I want to know who the serial killer/stalker is. Does anyone know if they are going show Passions online when it moves to DirectTv?

Nope. DirectTV will not be doing any online options for Passions. (Seems stupid, but I guess that's how they hope to attract subscribers.) MrsOldManBalls, Passions is being picked up in Canada by Allarco Entertainment, which is some sort of premium content provider like the Movie Network/Movie Central. [/research geek - I don't watch the show, but was curious as to its fate.]

I was planning on watching it the last couple of weeks before its finale just to see how this crazy show would end, but now that it's just moving networks, I no longer have interest in watching it again.

I know who the blackmailer is but I forget how to spoiler. Just do [ color=white] text here[/ color] (except take out the spaces before the words "color." My mother thinks the killer is Valerie the receptionist at Crane Industries but my sister thinks it's Pretty, Ivy and Julian's daughter. I was at my mother's on Monday and happened to see it for the first time in months. Those scenes between Ethan and the shemale stalker person were absolutely painful to watch. My mother said "(Ethan actor's name) must be so embarrassed to say that dialogue." My mother's disappointed about the move to DirectTV and said she's not going to switch from her digital cable just for 1 show.
