Yeah, the show really tanked after Brenda left. Dylan & Brenda were the best couple on the show. So much angst, so many wrinkles (on his part).

I have to agree with the Brenda love. After she left it wasn't as great. Tiffani-Amber Theisen was alright, but after she left, the show got really lame. I don't even think I watched the last 2 seasons faithfully. Also, I never understood why Dylan chose Kelly over Brenda! It then became the Kelly show.
I remember thinking this show was so cool because they did the summer seasons. I was so happy that we didn't have to wait until the fall for new episodes.

Speaking of music, what about the song they played during the graduation episode? When they all drove to view the "W BEV HI 93" sign they made out of the Hollywood sign?
I will probably get this on DVD, even though I have a lot of the episodes taped on VHS. I was a huge Kelly fan (pre-college Kelly).

Hell yeah! I still remember the anticipation of that first summer season. TV Guide ran all these teaser advertisements for it; I think I even cut a few of those out and kept them with my Bop/Big Bopper/teen mag stash. I really geeked out over my love for that show the first few years. It really pissed my brother off, because on one of my walls I had posters of Ice Cube, Ice-T, Jodeci---then other walls had cheesy 90210 posters.
The grown-up me doesn't really understand the crush I had on Luke Perry when the show first came out. Must've been the crinkly forehead. He got so whiny as the show went on, I could barely stand him at the end there.

Why would they replace the music? I am distraught.
I hope the craptastic Jeremy Jordan video will be featured. My friends and I still shout "Jeremy JORdan!" a la Donna.

I loved Dylan/Brenda too. In fact, they were the very first couple I ever shipped. Brenda was a perfect match for Dylan because she was fiesty as hell and tough. I loved the way she could stand up to both Dylan and her father and put them both in their places. Even Valerie was a bit intimidated by Jim Walsh. But not Brenda. He screamed at her and she screamed right back. The only time I didn't like Brenda/Dylan was during the summer Paris season. How the hell Brenda is going to be mad at Dylan for cheating when she also cheated?
Kelly is just way too Barbie doll for me. She had none of the fiestyness that Brenda had. She was a little too delicate and I hate how all the men on the show just had to fall in love with her. Besides her prettiness, I never could figure out what the hell someone like Dylan McKay saw in her. Kelly was such a victim. I hate that type of female character. She gets shot, raped, burned in a fire, sexually harrassed, joins a cult, has a miscarriage, etc... And the more crap she got herself into the less sorry I felt for the character.

I didn't watch the show much, but I was a Dylan/Kelly fan. I couldn't stand Brenda, though I do think the show tanked after she left. For me, I loved to hate Brenda. Everyone got boring though when she was gone.

I think she was more pissed off about who he cheated with, rather than just the fact that he cheated. She acknowledged that they both did crappy things and that maybe it meant that they should take a break and see other people. When she saw them on a date afterwards, she got mad but she started talking with them pretty quickly. This was during that stupid period when both girls were all, "Pick meeeeee, you wrinkly, five-headed piece of wood!" Then he chose Kelly, leading to that awesome "I hate you both! Never talk to me again!" scene. Only then did she find out that the summer fling was Kelly and, yeah, the fact that it was her best friend made her more understandably angry.
I hated the way she was treated in the later years - like, when they all assumed that she slept with that director. I think Dylan was the only one who believed that she didn't. It was the same way with Valerie - she screwed up a lot but whenever she did try to make amends and get her life together, she would get rebuffed, particularly by Kelly. 'Cause God knows that Saint Kelly did nothing bitchy during her earlier years.
I stopped watching right before Valerie left. I still don't know what Gina did.
