Does anyone plan on watching this tonight on ABC? It's a new drama with Rachel Griffiths, Calista Flockhart and Sally Field. From what I've read, it's gone through a lot of rewrites and has a kind of iffy chance of staying on the air for the whole season. We won't be getting here which makes me very, very sad because my fantasy boyfriend, Matthew Rhys, is also starring. And my sister in the States can't/won't record it (SHE SUCKS !!11!), and I already feel like a fool for asking her in the first place. She wouldn't understand my celebrity crush. She doesn't get celebrity stuff at all. She thinks all the time I'm spending on this site is really a front for having an online affair. Anyway, if you happen to watch it, let me know if it was any good. And if Matthew Rhys was trying to send me messages through the choice of shirts he was wearing. I'm off to write our initials all over my TrapperKeeper now.

I have no idea of who this Matthew Rhys is but I *am* 1000% certain he's playing a gay character on the show. So the T-shirt messages might be a little muddled. One of the show changes was the departure of Marti Noxon, which won't leave many people crying tears. S6/7 of Buffy and, uh, Point Pleasant don't exactly enjoy the best reputations. Besides Rachel Griffiths, I'm watching for the Alias mini-reunion of Balthazar Getty and Ron Rifkin. Ken Olin even directed tonight's pilot!

I'll watch this as I have this inordinate like of Calista Flockhart, even though the latter seasons of Ally McBeal were unwatchable.

I had absolutely no desire to see this until I read this:
Matthew Rhys! Lurve him. The last time he was playing in a project with Rachel Griffiths--Very Annie Mary--I laughed so hard at his performance. I wonder if his attempt at American tv wil last any longer than his mate's attempt with Century City.

I know! He's absolutely dreamy. Nothing against Ioan Gruffudd who seems nice enough, but I think my future fantasy husband has him squarely beat in the talent department.
It's nice to know that there's someone else out there who's heard of Matthew Rhys. I loved "Very Annie Mary" also! Any movie that will use an iron lung as a sight gag is OK in my book!

Thanks for the reminder, kanding. I lurve Rachel Griffiths, and Sally Field enough to get over my mild dislike for Calista Flockhart. Who by the way did the circuit this week advertising for the show which completely floored me, because I didn't see Rachel or Sally anywhere hawking the show. Both of whom I find much more interesting. Does anyone have a theory as to why they'd have her market it as opposed to the other women? Is it because she's boffing Harrison Ford? Because Rachel Griffiths and Sally Field have both shown a much greater range and have had more professional acclaim. I don't get it.

Rachel Griffiths just gets lovelier as she ages. Calista Flockhart looks like a malnourished puffer fish.
Matthew Rhys looks like a less styled julian MacMahon.
The plot development was completely predictable, but I enjoyed the show.

I watched it but am unsure if I'll watch it again. It just seemed to throw so much shit into the 1st episode. Trying to interest viewers or confuse them, one or the other.

It just seemed to throw so much shit into the 1st episode. I agree. And whenever Calista Flockhart expresses a feeling of shock on her face, she starts to look like a collagen-injected Jar Jar Binks.

I'm listening to the second episode in the background and find that I simply. do. not. care. At all. About any of these people.
It's a shame because I adore Rachael Griffiths but I find myself staring more at her face (and wondering how her obvious lines still make her beauty so attractive and so full of character, so much more so than the collagened women on other shows) than caring about the characters. The rest of the time, I just stare at Calista Flockhart and wonder why she looks so old. And why Sally Fields is better looking. How the hell did that happen?
It's a bad show when you watch solely because of the actors' facial appearance and with complete disinterest in the whiny characters' lives.
Sally Fields and Rachael Griffiths, it was nice seeing you on television again, but I don't think your show has long to live. It's a complete and utter BORE.
