Here's a recent story about Julian reconnecting with the girl who inspired "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." It also talks about his relationship with John, Yoko, Sean, and Paul. It sounds like Julian's made peace with the hellishness of his childhood.

I was just going to post that link! What a lovely story.
I wonder if John would have come around and brought Julian back into his life had he not died when he did--Julian is now older than his father was when he was murdered.

I'm glad to know that Julian is doing well. I always felt he got the short end of the stick when John hooked up with Yoko.

Julian sounds like a great guy. This may sound strange, but I always thought that the 1999 attack on George really killed him. He had had throat cancer in 1997 and I think was in remission, he was horribly wounded in the attack and then the cancer came back.

I'd like to think that John would've tried to make amends with Julian if he hadn't been murdered. I also hope that he would've made peace with Paul.

I remember watching some documentary about John Lennon a few years ago. My memory is a bit fuzzy but the documentary basically stated John and Julian were kinda reconciled. They were at least talking though the relationship wasn't great. Anyway, one of John's friends said John was confident their relationship would get better with time.
It is nice to read that Julian has made peace with the past and now gets along with Yoko and Sean.

I think I read somewhere that John was trying to make amends with Julian, unfortunately fate stepped in. Same with Paul. In fact, I saw an interview where Paul said he and John were watching Saturday Night Live together the night when Lorne Michaels offered all four of them money to appear on the show. They both thought about going to the studio but decided against it.

Thanks for that article. I'm glad that Julian has made peace with everything. I remember seeing an interview with him from a while back and he seemed so bitter and angry. Nice to hear that he has moved on and that things are better with Yoko and that he's got a good relationship with Sean.

Yeah, that was basically what John's friends said in the documentary (again if I recall correctly). It seemed like John wanted a better relationship with him. So, I too would like to think if he hadn't died they would have reconciled completely in time.
Paul has stated the last conversation he had with John was a friendly one. I always did find the SNL story amusing.

That Julian Lennon article was really nice to read. His insight about John's loss of his own mother really struck me: both for what it said about John, and about Julian's own maturity. This may sound strange, but I always thought that the 1999 attack on George really killed him. He had had throat cancer in 1997 and I think was in remission, he was horribly wounded in the attack and then the cancer came back. I had the memorial issue of Rolling Stone that was dedicated to him... damned if I can find it now, but one of George's friends basically said the same thing, that he never fully recovered from the knife attack. What a horrible thing to endure in your final years.
