Yeah, I heard its first print run sold out. The comic book store I got it at had to get a second order, and even then it was strongly suggested I reserve a copy. So I've got my name down through issue 5.
It's short, and seems to jump ahead an indeterminate period of time, but it's really good. It's nice to have the show "back" in some way.

Yay! The hubby has ordered me the Seasons 1-7 boxset!! Apparently I can't have it until my birthday (July - pah!) but I'm going to have fun rewatching it all. I'm sure there are a few episodes I've never seen.
Where would one look to find the comic? Is it available to buy online? (Or order, at least)

I'm actually a huge Faith fan, but I have to agree on one point here- Joss was a bit too anvilly about the good and evil thing there. Actually, come to think of it, he did stuff like that alot. Especially towards the end of the series.
To an extent, I agree it was a bit over the top for Buffy to get thrown out of her own home, but I do feel she earned that little mutiny for several reasons. 1) She ran off (alone with no weapons) to meet a potential Slayer even though she knew the uber vampires were out there waiting to get their hands on one and she had already had her ass handed to her in a fight with one. Seems a bad strategic move to me. I feel some back up (or at least weaponry) was called for there. 2) She got furious at Giles for even suggesting Spike should be chained up, arguing it was "cruel" and that the chip would prevent him from killing anyway, even though she knew he had already killed for the first despite having the chip still. And knowing she was letting someone who could theoretically attack them at any moment on the First's command walk around freely with the potentials AND her loved ones. Seems way too reckless to me. Finally, 3) Xander has literally just walked in the door from the going to the hospital after losing an eye in a botched attack on the first's minions and instead of taking a moment to come up with a new, more effective strategy she decides to just jump in and do the same. exact. thing. that didn't work before. All these things (and probably some others I can't think of right now) lead me to believe the scoobies were totally justified in being angry and not wanting to do things her way at that point in time. Buffy is human, afterall, and isn't exempt from making mistakes. IMO, she was making plenty at that point and needed to have someone call her on it. That was the whole premise of why she lasted as long as she did being a Slayer- because she had the gang to help her out now and then and sometimes point out flaws in her logic.

A Buffy-geek friend of mine ordered our comic copies from here[/color] (scroll down to see blurb about #1 being sold out). I don't know if we're getting the variant or the second printing. I think I'll take adawn's advice and put myself on a list at a local comic book store. I was also pissed off in Season 7 when everyone - including Giles! - ganged up on Buffy to kick her out of her own house. How many times had Buffy saved the world from destruction, let alone their lives? It was a war, and armies have strict hierarchy structures for a reason. Buffy was the most seasoned fighter who had repeatedly proven herself, therefore Buffy was in charge. Anyone who didn't like it could bugger off. It was a constant and irritating theme throughout the whole series, that Xander and Willow displayed a lot of disloyalty to Buffy. There were many instances where they should have taken her side, and didn't. Maybe they were just trying to show that ultimately Buffy only had herself. One of the main themes of the show, though, was that Buffy was stronger with the support of her friends than she ever could have been alone. The thing that pissed me off about Season 7 Buffy was that she turned into the Buffy of the Wish universe. That Buffy had no friends, didn't have a Watcher like Giles, had no outside interests. She was pure warrior, and look how she ended up. Sure, Buffy was the strongest and most experienced fighter, but the others contributed to the fight significantly over the years. Season 4 had its lame points, but I loved that the way the Scoobies defeated Adam was by combining the best of their essences: spirit (Willow), heart (Xander), hand (Buffy) and mind (Giles). Yes, Buffy took the dive off the tower in Season 5 to defeat Glory, but it was Xander who saved the world in Season 6. By mid-Season 7, Buffy had taken a George W. Bush/Anakin Skywalker "my way or the highway" approach to leadership, completely disregarding the concerns and input of people who had fought for years at her side. Which is why I was all "hell yeah!" when she was thrown out of the house. Err..I've thought way too much about that. I also have a life outside TV, but I was just talking about this with my sister the other day. Hahaha--I know. Four years off the air and the show still can inspire long discussions. That's one of the things I love about it. ETA - Looks like twistedangel beat me to a couple of points. Gah--I'd forgotten that Xander had JUST returned from the hospital. That just added fuel to the fire when I originally watched the episode.

Heh.... sorry! Yeah, that really got me going when I first watched the episode, too. I really felt for Xander on that one. The guy didn't get a whole lot of respect throughout the series. Watching that scene drove home the fact that this was NOT the show I had once enjoyed so much. Buffy was almost unrecognizable to me by that point as a character she had changed so much.

I managed to get a copy of the season 8 comic last week. It's not very long and mainly serves to establish the new Big Bad and fill in the details on what happened after "Chosen." But the writing is punchy and the drawings excellent, so I really enjoyed it! Next issue comes out April 4.

I was screaming at the TV when Buffy got kicked out of her own house. By her stupid fake sister, no less. That was beyond ridiculous. Had I been her, I would have kicked them all out and let them face The First on their own.

Amen to both those posts. I remember thinking when Dawn butted in after Buffy said that it was her house "it's my house too". It's probably my complete hate for Dawn talking but I immediately imagined myself in Buffy's place telling her to shut the fuck up that her ass was only patch of green light who should get her ass walkin. The little shit wasn't even real and she was kicking her out? That just warranted an ass whoopin.

Buffy would not have lasted as long as she did had she not had friends and family fighting beside her. That's what set Buffy apart from all the Slayers that came before her. She was never on her own. Buffy didn't save the world on her own. She had a support team. Her own personal little army that was with her every single step of the way. Doing research, casting spells, etc.... Buffy was damn lucky to have the Scoobies.

I'll second you on that! Faith was utterly loathsome, and I don't blame Buffy a bit for hating her. Faith acted as if her lack of ethics and bad choices were somehow Buffy's fault. I've never understood why I was supposed to like or feel sympathy for her, and I still believe that the only reason she turned herself in to the police in LA was because she was broke, homeless, friendless and had Buffy, the Council and the entire LAPD after her. Redemption my ass, she was hiding out in prison, which by the way, was a tremendous improvement in her standard of living.
Is there room on the Dawniepoo hate train for me? Word to the entire post. I especially hated Dawn in S6 when she whined that Buffy and her adult friends were too busy with their jobs, college and wedding plans to pay attention to her - and she wasn't even real!
