I got that Henry was so sexually frustrated afterwards because he could not come, as we had seen earlier in the episode that he can't do it unless some guy is holding a bowl for him.
I am baffled as to how this series is going to continue after this year, if it does. Henry should soon be obese and middle aged. Is Henry going to remain young and 'hot' (I do put that in italics as JRM does nothing for me) for six seasons? If he does, it'll be hard to imagine why Catherine Howard has to look elsewhere, as the show seems to think that 'Henry 8' is irresistible to women. The Jane Seymour season will be a snooze fest, unless they spice it up with more historically inaccurate sex. The real Henry had only three documented mistresses (Bessie Blount, Mary Boleyn and Madge Shelton), he probably did not need the penis/STD cream they so charmingly showed us last year. And "The Tudors: The Next Generation" is going to be a mess as they have effectively written out both Mary Queen of Scots and the Grey sisters. I hope they just end it after this year, but you know they won't. We will have to deal with a sassy and sexy Jane Seymour, a probable lesbian Anne of Cleves -who they will have to rename as stupid American audiences can't handle repetition of the same name, and those other two wives who will also have to be renamed. May I nominate Jamie Lynn Spears as "Kitty Howard"?

My favourite casting news: Peter O'Toole will play Pope Paul III in the second season. Paul III became Pope a year after Elizabeth I was born to Henry and Anne! So bad it's hilarious. I can't wait to see how they manage to insert someone who had absolutely nothing to do with the Tudors and England into the story.

Well, Popes are pretty interchangeable to the non-Catholic public, particularly 500 year old Popes. If the show is currently in roughly 1532-ish (I'm guessing, based on Wolsey's and Margaret/Mary's deaths), and Anne set to be queen in season 2, then Elizabeth will be born in a year or two. That only speeds up his timeline by two years at most, which only has the effect of overrunning Clement's reign. I'm guessing they'll just switch the names, and give PP3 Clement's role in the Reformation. Why they're doing that, I have no idea. Considering the rather blase attitude towards name accuracy, maybe they just thought Paul sounded more appropriately Pope-y than Clement.
I've been re-watching this on OnDemand, and I admit I love this show. It's cheesy and silly and, yes, inaccurate out the wazoo. But it's entertaining as all get out, and overall a pretty good production for what it is. I do think it's funny that people get all worked up over what is essentially a televised Phillipa Gregory novel. And no one's reading PG for the history, you know? That's pretty much how I view The Tudors, as a beautiful, cheesy bodice ripper for the historically inclined.

Thanks for the explanations on that. I had always thought that playing hard to get with full coital was part of Anne's game and she gave in only because he started to tire of that game.
So true that despite it's historical inaccuracies, it's a good show to watch for what it is.

Since this season is supposed to end with Anne's execution, is there any chance we will get George Boleyn reading the paper at his trial that declared that Henry was impotent? I would enjoy seeing JRM's Henry getting upset about that.
People Magazine just put him in their gallery of 'best screen Henrys' and did not have Keith Michel there. Unbelievable.

I'm not surprised by this due to the heavy amounts of FAIL that People magazine has aquired. Having said this, I am only oredering Showtime again for Henry Cavil hotness that I missed when its been on hiatus. Also Peter O'Toole is a god.

Henry's 'beard' in Season 2 is not making me any more convinced he is manly
