I enjoyed the reunion episode. Poor Brennan was an outcast in high school. Who wouldn't have guessed that?
I think Booth is trying to distance himself, but it's a struggle. Notice how he didn't succumb to the sheriff's and caterer's flirtations. He was not at all interested. And he seemed really into the charade.
When Booth dates the marine biologist (who coincidentally has dark hair and blue eyes) Brennan will get sooooooooo jealous. Good. She needs to make the next move. I do want them together, but I want Brennan to get over the abandonment issues and not hide behind her genius. Bones isn't as oblivious or rational as she acts IMHO. Notice how open and friendly she was to Boxley and how normal she acted when she danced. Let's hope Booth's attempts to move on wake her up.
ETA: Waker? Nice typo!

I watched all the episodes, but I'm still unclear. Was she saying she wouldn't risk what relationship they had to try and make it more? Or that she was too screwed up to get into a serious relationship.... or both?
And yes, DB with tears in his eyes during that whole thing made me feel so sad for Booth... he knows what he wants, but he knows he can't stay in that place forever, that it wouldn't be good for either of them.

For me the last few episodes have almost been like Brennan has had amnesia and not Booth. She's moved beyond this whole naive outsider persona that the writers are giving us again. "What's coffee a code word for?" Really?
Just one more road block. I don't mind if they never had Booth and Brennan together but when you're constantly throwing it out there your viewership is going to get annoyed when you keep backing off. If you had moved the characters on in the beginning I would have more respect for you but when you keep manipulating us to expect it then veer off, it's getting hard to take.
One thing that bugged me a few episodes ago was when they revealed that it was Angela all this time who had given Brennan the character and sex moments that she had in her books. Brennan may be awkward but she's always been an earthy, sexual creature.

I have to wonder if the thinking among the writers on that wasn't that Brennan may be earthy, sexual, but perhaps her descriptors in those areas would be too clinical for entertainment so Angela helps with those bits. Makes them more accessible for regular people that don't care about synapses firing and which muscle group is getting stroked, etc.

To Brennan, sex is more of a biological need. Angela could help with the wanting, desire and actual interpersonal relationship part of it.

I've found this annoying, as well. That and not knowing who the Rat Pack were and similar things like that just seem like she would have been living in a cave in another country. They take this thing way too far.
I've always been curious as to why they changed the Temperance character so much from the original book character. They're drastically different characters. Ultimately, all they share is a name and the fact that they're forensic anthropologists.
If they're not going to have Booth and Brennan get together any time soon, I wish they'd not bother bringing in new romantic interests for both of them. It's too annoying and distracting. Those storylines weren't interesting to me at all. The last five minutes of the show were a waste, as far as I was concerned.

Kathy Reichs has stated that TV Tempe is based on her. I do like Brennan, but I wish she'd lighten up a bit, e.g. consume some pop culture. Even geniuses have guilty pleasures. Word to the last part. Can't they at least show some progression? For example, they decide to have sex and in the middle of getting hot and heavy are interrupted by an urgent call. Or they try to balance work and play and bicker about a case while they're on a date. They don't have to do the happy in the 'burbs cliché.

I wish some tv show would actually show a true adult friendship/relationship between a man and a woman. Where they may both have feelings for each other, but understand that now's just not the right time. That's happened to me, I'm sure it's happened to a lot of people. I thought that they might be able to go down that road and pull it off in the Reunion episode, but I agree that I didn't like their interaction during this episode. I thought Brennan talking about sex with Booth's boss was a little callous. She can't have wizened up over the past few seasons and even weeks and then go back to playing dumb about Booth. Especially since that's what it seems like - Playing dumb, instead of being naive about how things work.
One thing I am surprisingly liking though is Angela and Hodgins. I didn't 100% buy their insta-relationship earlier, and I thought their break up was poorly handled, but now I'm excited that they might get back together. And I can see chemistry between them more than ever.

I think Angela and Hodgins is the only relationship on the show that I do like. I'd rather they just stick with them and let everyone else just work. Putting every single character into a relationship now is just tedious and seems kind of lazy, as if the writers can't be bothered to write a decent story strong enough to fill the hour; they resort to hackneyed relationships.
I assume this week's rock and roll theme was in relation to that Glee marketing thing I gather they're pushing on all the series on the channel? It was also hackneyed and seemed like it was written by the same kind of people as the victim supposedly was. The only good thing was the inclusion of Michael Des Barres, which takes me back. He filled in for Robert Palmer on the Powerstation tour back in 1985. Of course, seeing him look this old just made me feel old! Was the tattooed guitarist someone famous?
