On a somewhat related note, I have this little Kate Hudson game I play...I go to gettyimages when Kate has a premiere and make a little bet on how many pictures there will be of her doing that mouth-gaping-open grin/laugh she must think is so endearing. At the premiere of Skeleton Key in London, I guessed six. There were none. She wasn't smiling at all in most of the pictures. I'm going to jump to the conclusion that it's because her shitty marriage is on the rocks.

And a big liar. Blathering on and on about being a dancer, having a fast metabolism etc etc. and then taking a loooong drag off of a cigarette. I'm sure nicotine addiction has nothing to do with the weight loss, Kate.

A person with a "fast metabolism" does not gain 60-70 pounds while pregnant with one child. Either she worked her ass off, so to speak, to gain that much weight or she naturally pooches out while eating normal fatty foods. I don't care either way but she really isn't doing anyone any favors to claim she is just a stick figure naturally when she clearly worked her ass off to lose that weight. If an actress would just admit that it is freaking hard as hell to maintain an ultra slim figure maybe girls wouldn't be beating themselves up over the smallest change in weight.

The few women I know who gained that much weight during their pregnancies had gestational diabetes. That's not a dig at Kate; it just might have been why she gained so much. But 60 lbs. lost in three months? That's just starving and nicotine, not "metabolism".

But ye gods. What a giant bee-yotch on a motorized broomstick. She's probably idiot enough to think that all that the interviewer will write about is the answers she gave to his/her questions. Never mind that pesky dismissive, uninterested behavior - "I'm perky! I'm Young Hollywood! People love me! That's what that writer-dude will write about!" Not quite.

My mom is naturally built like Kate starves herself to be, and my mom had a really hard time gaining weight during pregnancy. The doctor wanted her to gain at least 20 pounds, but she never got there. She topped out at 15 pounds for my brother (but he was premature) and 18 pounds for me. And she was eating like a horse. She sent my dad out to buy her hot fudge sundaes almost every night of her pregnancy.

Super fast metabolisms don't suddenly turn off when you're pregnant.

What I don't understand is why Kate decided to gain all that weight. She didn't have to. I guess she probably thought it was the one time in her life when it was "okay" to her to eat normally.

ETA: Wow. I just read that interview, and the girl is five different kinds of stupid. Why would you say that "Bob Dylan is my favorite professor," when you could say something nice and simple and clear like "He's a wise man. I learned a lot from him." And her dodging the weight questions? Priceless. I think she's a decent actress, but the peroxide she uses on her hair has obviously done something to her brain.
