So did Barney and Robin end up married? I was kind of hoping for a fiery inferno or explosion to take them all out.

As for me? Alyson Hannigan better get her new show picked up. And they fekkin' well better explain the GOAT! I remember Lily rescued it from a butcher. Ooh. There's a HIMYM wiki... Missy's... the goat.

Wow, they were so young looking when this show started. Cobie was barely in her 20s. I liked the ending, the show had a great run and everyone ended up in a good place and Barney finally met a girl that totally stole his heart and Robin never had children but became a mom.

I LOVED the ending. I always wanted Ted and Robin to end up together. And him bringing her the blue french horn....Perfect ending. I cried when Barny fell in love with his daughter. He finally met the love of his life. One of the best endings to a TV show IMO.

The last 5 minutes ruined the entire thing for me--and by thing I mean show. Robin was always my least favorite character, and the kids' reactions seemed so unrealistic. The only thing I liked this seas on was the casting of Cristin Milioti as the mother, as she is adorable. I knew she was going to die, and I was okay with that, as tragedy happens, but the Ted/Robin at the end felt so unearned--to me, anyway.

This show is dead to me. Fuck it. Fucking bullshit. Throwing out my DVDs. That fucking atrocity of an ending ruined the entire series.

If they filmed that ending way back at the beginning, they really have no excuse for the fulltilt Robin/Barney relationship they sold for seasons that they destroyed in 5 mins. That was the weakest part to me. In doing so, they invalidated the Ted/Robin relationship they knew was endgame.
That said, I think a bigger issue to me was the pacing. They could have stretched this episode out to a season (or 2) and it would probably have been better then the past 2 seasons of nothing but bad filler. The 48 hour season was a terrible idea.

I hated Barney/Robin and loved Ted/Robin so I was happy with the finale. I loved the mother too. Overall, I am happy.

I kind of got the feeling from interviews with the creators, actors etc that they weren't into the Barney/Robin relationship as much as some of the viewers were. They always kind of kept Ted/Robin on the table. Still, I thought they had put a fork in them this season.

I WAS RIGHT! And yuck. They killed off the only character that I liked at the end - the mother. I will admit that this was the most entertaining HIMYM that I have seen in years but what a strange last season - they spent it all on the wedding for a marriage that lasted three years. And the mother died. They were big fat liars because they explicitly said that the mother would not die.
