I haven't watched "It me or my dog" yet but I'll look out for it. Was the demon doxie named Willow? Then I'll know where she REALLY came from.
I watched an episode of HCIYH today with a housewife who got physically ill when Aggie started telling her about how her house was a petri dish for really nasty things. What!? Did she think that these piles of slime, mold and filth were growing faerie freaking dust? They had three little kids and two dogs. She was a stay-at-home mom and I'm not sure what she was doing as the children were school age. So was she watching soap operas all day?

I have been watching this show on Youtube, since I don't get BBC America, and I have learned so much. Whenever I use a lemon, I fill the remaining lemon shell up with salt and keep it in my freezer. Did you know that you can use ketchup to polish copper or bronze? It works because it has vinegar in it. I used some ketchup packets to clean up some copper vases and plates that I have. It works almost instantaneously and you can definitely see a difference.
I love both ladies so much and I love the way Aggie says grit and grim( sounds like grrrrit and grrrrrime). I know I am a horrible person when I secretly enjoy it when they berate the unclean people.( "You filthy beggar!!!", "Dirty hussie!!") Hee!!

US beauty queen, with lost "crown" and a son with a parrott in his room.
I find it hard to believe that this professional beauty had never washed a makeup sponge in her life.
Would you date a skank like that?
Or do the American families have no idea of how popular this show is??

[OT]I just saw "It's Me or the Dog" and I love it. I do think it's somewhat of a "Dog Whisperer" rip-off (although bfrog is right, the trainer does offer more practical tips), but it's awesome. Kind of like on HCiYC, it amazes me how many people don't know the basics of training their dogs.

SluttyMary -- it helps to eat up the odor.
Has anyone tried the vinegar/salt/baking soda remedy to unclog their bathroom sink? I tried it...didn't work. But I don't know how effective that solution would be eating up a hair clog, which I suspect it's what's wrong in my sink.
I saw the show last week, maybe, that featured that nasty piece of work who was all, "Oh, I just want you here to clean up so I can hire a cleaning person when you leave." Ugh. She was odious.
I like the shows where they focus on the hoarders. For some reason, I've a great deal of sympathy for the ones they've featured.

Book? There's a BOOK? Wow, I've gotta find that. I swear that using lemon juice and baking soda on my range top makes it cleaner than anything else I've tried. Plus I've using either lemon juice or vinegar to clean everything in the kitchen. These women are goddesses of cleaning, plus they're so funny. Oh, and what the heck is bio powder? I've figured out that toilet soap is what we call bar soap or bath soap. And we call bicarbonate of soda "baking soda." I love Aggie's Scottish accent. They're both so funny. I love the baking soda and lemon juice cleanser! I love to watch it sizzle as it mixes together. I have got to get the book. I am a neat freak, but probably don't deep clean (like baseboards and ceiling fans) as much as I should. I clean only what I can see. Some of it is rebelling against my MIL who last time she was here, spent 30 minutes VACUUMING our master bathroom, which is not terribly big. 30 minutes. Now, what does that accomplish that a Swiffer Wet Jet will not? My mom is not much of a cleaner, and never taught me how. I just kinda picked it up from watching others like my neat freak Grandmother and testing out products. In fact, my mom is an on the wagon hoarder. She still hoardes somewhat, but my step-dad bought a school bus and parked it on their farm, so now she stores her stuff in there. Which I still think is ridiculous, but better there than in the house. My step-brother even painted it to say, "Cool Bus".

I think that a major clog of hair, etc., may need Drano or somesuch, but then you can use the vinegar/salt/bs once a month thereafter prophylactically. I know a hoarder. It's an awful disorder -- especially for the family, oy... Last night's ep almost did me in! The sad, fluffy man who works at the dump, and brings home stuff out of the garbage b/c he maybe "could use that." I could almost SMELL the place thru my TV! I would not have believed that that house could have been made habitable again (short of hiring one of those toxic cleanup teams), but they did it. I thought Ags and Kim were very kind to him; I was expecting them to really lay into him. Maybe they realized just how far down you have to be to live like that.

I saw it too: his place was right up there with the Bird Lady's, but while she was infuriating, he was just sad. He was so grateful that he was actually crying at the end.

He was very sad, especially when you find out that it started to go down hill after he broke up. The bird lady was crazy, had a bad attitude and I'm sure she's living in a tip again and doesn't care. She just looked to me like she smelled like bird poo.
