Wow. I haven't thought of this show in ages. My dad and I would always watch each episode to pick out the various band-aids and bandages Les would have, and I'm another that still says chi-hooa-hooa. In fact, it always made spelling it much easier when I was working for a dog magazine.
I loved that it was an incredibly funny show, but could also be heartfelt and moving. I remember the episode about the crowds being crushed at The Who's concert in Cincinnati and the way they handled it on the show. Very moving.

I am working my way thru Season One on DVD, which I still bought after finding out they don't play the original music that was used on the show. It's really strange to see Johnny Fever rocking out to Generic Rock Track #1. Anyways, I never watched this when it was being broadcast and I was looking to spend some money, so . . .
I am absolutely fascinated by Loni Anderson. I don't think her attractive or sexy at all, she's looks like what would happen if you took a Barbi doll and enlarged her to human size. (But I'm all over Bailey.) What I like most about the show is it's SO...LAID...BACK. Compared to the bada-bing bada-boom sitcoms nowadays, it's a real pleasure to watch people who aren't pushing the envelope Every Single Second. The actors are laid back, the line delivery is laid back, the pace of the shows is laid back. I love that. And the fashions? Outta sight, man.
I think of the show more as a time capsule than a sitcom. I'll be looking for Season Two soon.
Carlson (whacking his foot with his shoe after finding out the "foot powder" he put in his sock is actually cocaine and it made his foot go numb): I've got a monkey on my foot!!!

Yeah, I always thought Bailey was far more attractive than Jennifer.
WKRP was another show killed before its time. But it did leave us with some unforgettable moments.

I still remember things from this show and laugh. Like (of course) the Thanksgiving episode where they screwed up by thinking Turkeys could fly (Less Nessman's Hindenberg disaster type reporting "The humanity! Oh the humanity!!") I also laugh remembering Less's walls and Herb's clothes.
I never bought the DVDs because I heard they didn't use the same music. I'm not sure if that would ruin the show for me or not.

Man, this show was hysterical. My two favorite episodes are the Turkey episode and the one where Johnny Fever thinks the phone company is trying to kill him. I am off to add this show to my Netflix queue. The phone company episode will be funny forever. Apparently, they have their own police force.

Haven't seen it since it originally aired but still remember " Speed kills,Dell " " It's The Suits vs The Dungarees Andy! " " Farfel....the dog" ( and yes, even to my 16yr old hormone fueled brain Bailey was hotter than Jennifer ) Carlson shaking his fishing pole "Has any one seen my Red Wiggler? " The Japanese visiting the station " Ahh... Disca Jockey" Nessman's new band-aid on a different part of his body every episode. And a million other things because that show was an absolute classic

I remember the baseball game episode which ended with Les having to catch a fly ball to win the game. He had never been allowed to play ball as a kid, being made to practic the violin allte time.

I remember the episode when the tornado hit and Andy was knocked out on his back over a desk. The guys run to gather him up and move him to another desk.
Jennifer: "You are not supposed to move an injured person!" Carlson: "Son of gun, she's right!"
They quickly scrabble to move him back to the first desk.
