mr. cyclone and I just started watching this series - picked it up at the video store because we LOVE anything and everything to do with spies. Seriously, anything.

Through the first 4 episodes so far and love it! The actors are all great (although that my be biased by my Anglophilia), and it's had pretty intense scenes & stories so far. Also it's fun to watch for actors you've seen elsewhere before (Matthew Macfadyen, Esther Hall, Hugh Laurie and more so far).

Anyone else out there that watches it?

Glad to see a thread about this show, I love it, watch it on BBC Canada. I like the entire cast especially Adam.

We've got most of season 4 on tape (thanks to the idiots at A&E, who decided that no advertising and a sucky timeslot meant that nobody wanted to watch it and burned the rest off in a marathon that coincided with my brother's wedding[/bitter]), but haven't gotten around to watching it yet, partially because my mother can't remember where she put the tape. I liked Tom better than Adam (I think he's cuter), but I do like how they handled the cast transitions.

spordelia - I taped most of that marathon too. Love this show. I was a wreck watching the end of season 3. Stupid A&E.

On the positive side, BBC America is picking it up!

I love this show too! I watched all the seasons via Netflix last fall and was so hooked I ended up buying the DVDs. Although, I must say that I much prefer the earlier seasons when Tom, Danny, and Zoe were still around. Tom's S2 character arc and storyline with Christine Dale were the best part of the series for me.

Love this show too...caught as much of it as I could when it was on A&E. BOO to them for taking it off. I'm glad to hear its coming to BBC america. In the meantime, I might have to put a few episodes on my Netflix queue too.

I definitely favored the early Tom era. I had a major crush on Matthew McFayden for a while, then he showed up in Pride & Prejudice and her version of Darcy blew it for me. IIRC, McFayden is, or was, married to the actress who played Zoe.

I hope that an american network doesn't try to do a US version of the show. CIA/Spooks anyone?

Yes, I looked it up a few days back - because I'm one of those crazies that has to find everything about everyone on a new(-to-me) show that I like. Apparently she left her first husband for him?

Anyway, I fear I've created a monster with this thread. I'll have to read it with squinted eyes so as not to spoil anything for myself. Or maybe I'll just check back when we're through a few more seasons! :)

You really should. The show was cut down from 60 minutes to 44 minutes for the A&E airings. For a show that is so tightly packed in its original format, I can't imagine having 25% eliminated.

I got series 5 in the mail yesterday! Squeeee! We'd borrowed the first 4 seasons again to refresh the memory - and I was reminded how much I LOVE this show. Especially in the last season-and-a-half, it seems like every episode is better than the last. Already watched the first two eps of this season - that's always my downfall. With only 10 per season, they go fast!
