Time travel confuses a lot of people. I remember seeing a show a few years ago, where some scientists were discussing time travel and Hollywood, and how most shows get it wrong. They said the best portrayal was "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure," of all things.

What did they say that most shows get wrong? And what did Bill and Ted's... get right?

What did they say that most shows get wrong? And what did Bill and Ted's... get right? I won't pretend I understood exactly what they were talking about ... I'm not sure you could even find a consensus regarding the theory of time travel within the scientific community. I just remember that this particular group of scientists were impressed with the way Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure wrapped up at the end. Bill & Ted looped, using their time machine, to place items when & where they would need them in their future (the keys, for example).

I got a serious "Quantum Leap" vibe tonight.
I'm enjoying the jumps to when he's in the apartment with himself and sorting out the old relationships, etc. That's interesting. The 'sad sack' of the week he's 'following', not so much.
Oh and I hate his boss. That guy bugs for some reason. Recast please.

Eh, I tried to watch it, but I just couldn't get into it. Too bad, because I loved me some Quantum Leap back in the day.

Same here. Even my love for Kevin McKidd isn't enough to really keep me interested in this show.

Same here. Even my love for Kevin McKidd isn't enough to really keep me interested in this show. Mr. Britty and I had that discussion last night. We are both big fans of McKidd, but we can't get into this show. I just don't care about the people he's supposed to be helping. I'd rather have less interaction with his wife and more time travel stuff. I don't like the wife at all, and I think it would be a better show without his present day family to deal with. They should have given the wife to the brother, but let her still have the hots for McKidd. I found myself thinking too much about how the Gatorade bottle looked, if he would have had that Motorola in 1995, and if planes were really such swinging places in 1975.

I agree, the wife doesn't really fit this at all (both character and actress). And, having flown in the 70's, I remember the smoke, but not the swinging uniforms and music!! I wonder if the $20 bill the brother got as a young cop will come back into play?

I want to retool this show and just get rid of the wife and kid. Serious dislike on the family, and compared to his previous fiancée, I can't figure out why he married what's-her-name. I think I'd like this better if I felt like he was heading toward some goal of finding out why he and Olivia are time traveling. I get the feeling the writers WANT to go in that direction but these first two episodes have felt like they're just randomly banging around in time and space for no reason.

I also don't like the family at all. The kid is creepy and the wife just isnt' working. I'll keep watchign, tho, because of the KMK love.
