Did anyone catch this premiere last night? What? No fanboy/girl love? It's directed by Kevin Smith.
I only caught the 1st 20 minutes or so and it wasn't too bad. [Had to put my yard apes to bed. Frigging full moon.] A guy turns 21 and discovers jhis parents had sold his soul to the devil before he was born. Can't remember what soap opera the guy playing the devil is from. Has a young Jack Black like guy for his best friend and a crush on a girl he works with. The action involves him helping to return runaway souls to hell.

I watched it. It was okay, but nothing really special. I'll keep watching it for a few weeks to see how it continues. I hope they camp it up a bit more.

That was Ray Wise - I mostly know him as Leland Palmer on Twin Peaks.
I kinda half-watched it and thought it was fairly amusing. The thing with the zamboni machine was kinda gross, but I did laugh at the end when the Devil smiled and said hello to that woman in the store, and the last shot is of him watching her walk down the aisle, then following her.
I'll probably check it out again, and I agree - they should camp it up a bit more.

I liked it. I thought some of the sly humor was good, like using the dirt devil to capture the escaped souls. Leland Palmer creeps me out, so I thought he was a good fit.

So this show is why I spotted Kevin Smith at the Vancouver Art Gallery a while back! They filmed the courthouse scene (when the Reaper and Sock go to get info on the arsonist) at the VAG. Kevin Smith was outside at a catering truck and giving people directions. There were extras standing around in business suits (sometimes it seems the only people you see in dowtown Vancouver wearing suits are film extras).

Isn't Kevin Smith just directing the first episode? That's what I heard. Then when I looked it up on the IMDB, it says, "Kevin Smith (1 episode), Someone Else (1 episode)"
I love Leland Palmer!
I watched last night and thought it was... cute. It seems like it has the air of cancellation about it, for some reason, though. I can't put my finger on it. Plus, I used to watch Grounded for Life in syndication and I can't get over the fact that we're supposed to take Brad kind of seriously now. He was so doofy on that show.

Smith's also an exec producer.
Ray Wise was perfect. And must have a Faustian bargain of his own, because he looks like he hasn't aged at all since TP.
I want Bret Harrison so so bad.

I want Bret Harrison so so bad. Me too. I wish I got the CW network here so I could watch this.

I wanted to watch this, but I forgot when it was on. The premise reminds me of Dead Like Me-is it similar to that show?

I read an interview with Kevin where he praised the creators but said it was difficult directing it because he wanted to tweak the dialog because he's such a dialog freak. But they wouldn't let him. hee! He also said he may be back to direct more during the season.
