New Season starts tonight!

I love this show. They go in trying to debunk the supernatural, and seem to always find something... unexplainable.

Much discussed in the Ghosts and Paranormal Events thread, if you like things that go bump in the night, this show is for you.

I do watch the show, although I think it was better in the first season or two. They all seem pretty bored with what they're doing now, especially Jason and Grant. And I think the thing with the "electronic Ouija board" in the not-quite-Sharon-Tate house last season was a real low point for them.

Yes, new season tonight, which I'm TIVOing. I think it's great that they try to debunk things before going ga-ga for believing that everything is paranormal.

I'm just glad that Jason isn't as grumpy as he used to be in the first two seasons.

Yeah, what was up with that? It seemed so unlike their usual skepticism. And that dude that brought the meter was extremely odd. His makeup scared me. The evps were creepy though. Ugh.

I love these guys so I don't wanna nitpick too much. But I did notice something strange in last night's premiere: the hotel where they examined the evidence was the same for both cases. (Either that, or they stayed in two completely different hotels with the exact same bedding and the same little green plant on the bedside table.) I thought that was weird -- I mean, if underground Seattle and the abandoned hospital were close enough to all be investigated from one location, then why bother to have exterior shots of two different hotels?

As someone that's lived in Seattle for a very long time before, Sedro-Wooley and Seattle are not that close. Sedro-Wooley is in the middle of NOWHERE, North of Seattle. Seattle, obviously for this investigation, was completed downtown. It's a good 1 1/2 - 2 hour drive back South.

I don't get why they did two different shots, unless it was a faux pas on the editors part. They may have just filmed exteriors beforehand and put them both in.

I like these guys simply because unlike other "ghost hunters" type shows, they don't deem every single place they visit haunted. They don't get touched by evil spirits where ever they go. A huge chunk of the time they are just all, "Yeah, we found nothing."

In fact, my favorite episode was the one where some guy was convinced that there was some sort of spirit in his house that was basically just sucking his will to live. He felt sick a lot of the time, he felt depressed, and he thought he had seen and heard things in the house. So Jason and Grant go poking around this guy's basement and find tons of mold (which could be toxic), all these cans of paint, varnish and other chemicals sitting around, and a huge fuse-box type thing that wasn't insulated that was throwing out all sorts of currents (which can also mess you up). I loved that they had enough knowledge to look around the basement and go, "Okay, here is the guy's problem. He's got all sorts of chemicals and mold down here, electrical currents running all over the place, and it is right by the intake for the heating/cooling vents that run all through the house. All this stuff can make you feel sick and depressed, and can even cause hallucinations. Sir, you don't have a ghost, you just need to clean your damn basement." The folks from "Most Haunted" would probably have recommended a exorcism.

So the first ep was meh, but the second was good. The EVPs in the baby store freaked me out, although it didn't sound menacing ("Don't be afraid of me"). I also love that Jason and Grant are so reluctant to call something haunted. Usually, that means nothing much happens, but the show still entertains me. But the baby store -- eek. "There is no Jean here." Usually, EVPs don't sound like anything to me, but I heard that loud and clear. Gaaah.

"There is no Jean here" was really freaky! I don't usually hear what they claim the EVPs are saying, but that was so clear. I don't actually believe in EVPs (or ghosts, for that matter) but I still love scaring the crap out of myself with ghost stories and shows.
