I know this is the Ghost Hunters thread, but as much as I love the paranormal I think "A Haunting" is way fake. The stuff that happens on most of the episodes just seems over the top.
As for last night's episode of GH... for some reason I wasn't as impressed as I think I should be. Maybe it was the guys' constant ass-kissing of the Air Force that kind of annoyed me.
But Chris sure has purty hair.

I thought the thing with the flashlight was pretty rad.
As far as the lovefest - not surprising. The Air Force has been going on in the press about how this would benefit them because GH is popular with their target age group, so all the "The Air Force is awesome!" stuff was probably part of the deal.
I liked the old school beginning of the show with Jason and Grant doing their Roto-Rooter stuff and the completely staged phone call from home base (only this time with the much more tolerable Kris rather than the annoying Donna). Good times!
And I'm glad that Tango still has his lucky red headphones and nobody busted his chops about them. And did Steve miss one opportunity to talk about how he's afraid of flying?

I thought the thing with the fashlight was pretty rad. So did I! The whole knocking and shutting of the door was pretty awesome, too. I threw my shoe at the TV.

My husband and I watched this episode last night.
So what was the 23 seconds of something we'd never seen before that was hyped in the commercials? Was it the 5-10 seconds they showed of the flashlight turning on by itself? If so, the commercial was very misleading.

Well, they did play it over and over again, so maybe it added up to 23 seconds.

Hee. I wondered about that too. But the flashlight was creepy. However, I couldn't hear most of the sounds they were hearing. And the black space near Jason in the... pipe room? I couldn't see where they were looking at.
okay episode but disappointing based on the commercials.

Did anyone else catch this last night? Mostly boring, but they caught a seriously cool EVP. It was the clearest one I've ever heard (in that you could actually hear and understand the voice. It just sounded like a poor phone connection) and who or whatever was doing the talking was clearly answering their questions.
ETA: Some folks at TWoP have said that it sounded almost like a "The Others" type situation, where maybe the ghost (known as "The Princess") thought she was the one being haunted.
In the first part of the EVP, it was just Steve and Tango checking out the room and talking to each other and you can hear the "ghost" talking over them. Then Jason and Grant came into the room and asked "Hello? Is anyone in here?" and the voice responded with "Hello? Is someone there?" and then later they asked "Princess, are you in the room?" and she responded with "Of course I'm here! Where are you?" So it sounded like maybe she couldn't see them.

Oh, weird! I TiVo'ed it but that's really interesting!
This wasn't the finale was it?

I don't think it was the finale - I thought I heard them say something about scenes from the next episode (that was during my bathroom break so I didn't see them).
And it was seriously cool. The thing that struck me the most was the tone of the voice. Usually they get some sort of moaning or groaning or giggling or whispers, but this sounded like a woman who spoke with an accent, and she seemed irritated/rattled by these voices asking her questions. She sounded like a woman who was wondering what the heck was going on.
