Last night was a little creepy. The solid, shadow figure? The voice in response to a "What is your name?" question? And to have ti say "Chesney" or "Chestnut", and that's the girls name and/or nickname? Creeeeeeeepy. Yeah, I'm glad I watched this instead of Bionic Woman. That was creepy. I was trying to figure out what that shadow could be (as in something non-supernatural), but it was pretty weird how it sort of popped up and materialized on the screen. I didn't think anything of the lights on the video, I really think those were just car headlights. Jason and Grant didn't seem all that impressed either. The episode that ran after this one was them revisiting the hotel they used for The Shining and I forgot how totally creepy that episode was - where Jason stayed the night in one of the rooms and the closet door keep opening and closing and then the glass on the nightstand just sort of spontaneously broke. A couple questions on some past episodes - is this the show where one of the crew members quit because he was so freaked out? I think I remember one episode where the guy was just standing there, there was no one behind him or next to him to bump into him, and suddenly the equipment bag he had on his shoulder swung up and hit him in the face? And that's when he was like "Okay, not doing this job anymore"? I think it was this show. And my other question is - does anyone remember the thermal image Jason and Grant got one time that had a pretty clear image of a man standing there in front of some old lockers? I just remember that after that episode aired everyone on the internets was trying to debunk that and I wondered if anyone figured it out (a lot of people thought it was somehow Grant's reflection).

I do remember that. A lot of debunking has gone on, some of it very detailed, and I lean towards thinking that it was Grant's reflection/shadow. It really creeped me out when I first saw it, though.
I remember that happening (I think the guy's name was Frank?) but I don't remember him quitting over it. That was pretty creepy.

Sorry to bump, but there was some new news I wanted to share for all the GH fans. I noticed that Brian being gone this season was a big whole for me, and then I realized, he's got a new show! SCI FI GREENLIGHTS GHOST HUNTERS INTERNATIONAL (SPIN-OFF!) Hooray! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE Barry Fitzgerald! I'll probably watch this but ugh, I was hoping Brian was gone for good. He gets on my last nerve with his whining and his willingness to place blame on others. I was tickled that he hasn't been in any of this season's episodes. After all the issues with him over the years, I'm surprised he's still involved with TAPS, even in a spin-off. And I have to agree with Shanmac and thingamajig about Barry. He's a big chicken but a hoot to watch (I'm a skeptic but I'd probably be a big chicken, too, in some of those situations. I have a very active imagination and would likely be scaring the shit out of myself left and right).

Thanks, thingamajig. I think you're right that Frank is the guy's name - and I could be remembering wrong, but I am pretty sure that he quit the show. I don't think it was a situation where he just said, "Well, that's it" and quit right after the bag mysteriously smacked him in the face, but that he did quit not too long afterwards and that incident played a big part in his decision to leave.
Brian bugs the crap out of me and I was disappointed to hear that he landed a spin-off.
But Barry will be entertaining - I'm a skeptic with an active imagination too. I like this show because it is rare that Jason and Grant actually declare something haunted (usually they just leave it at "maybe") and I like picking apart the evidence. But it doesn't stop me from getting creeped out while watching it and I'd probably scream like a little girl if I saw/heard some of the things they encounter.

That episode was on last night too, right before the O.K. Corral one.
The video is hard to see, because one of the guys is in front of him, but you can see the bag go up and smack him on the face, and then he falls down. However, since the front guy is, well, in front, you can't see the whole bag. It is odd looking.
I've been disappointed this season so far. It seems they're debunking everything and not finding anything. I thought the shadow could have been any ole thing, since the angle is so off, and it's so fast.
have they announced where they will be for Halloween? Is it the Stanley Hotel again? That would be cool.

have they announced where they will be for Halloween? Is it the Stanley Hotel again? That would be cool. I believe they're doing another live (Liiiiiiive!) episode at the sanitarium that they visited last season (was it the season opener?) where they had some serious freaky crap going on. They'll have all three of the "wannabe" TAPS members there, and test their abilities to pick their new Ghost Hunter (to replace Brian, I'm sure). But the shadow from last night's episode was very odd. You see the guy get up, and his shadow goes down, like it's supposed to. The way that a figure sprouted up and manifested was just odd. I tried to think that maybe it was an object, but really, he had the camera in his hand and nothing blocking it. But, they did deem the house haunted, no? As for The Moore Theatre, that employee was a little too bright eyed for me. I think she expected some serious results, and Jason and Grant were underwhelmed with the place. But what pissed me off was that their thermal picked up something in the basement and they never went back to debunk if it was a reflection or what. I mean, it dissipated pretty slowly but they didn't seem to be in it's line of sight to have created it, themselves.

Oh, OK, that makes sense.
I, too, am a skeptic who would run screaming like a little girl from some of these situations. I used to read "true" ghost stories as a kid and scare the crap out of myself. For several years I always slept facing away from my bedroom door because that way if a ghost were to walk down the hallway, I wouldn't be able to see it. Of course I couldn't sleep with the door shut, because I needed to be able to escape my room quickly in case of an earthquake or volcano (in Northwest Florida...yeah).
I haven't seen last night's episode yet (it's waiting on my TiVo) but it sounds interesting, at least.

I tried to think that maybe it was an object, but really, he had the camera in his hand and nothing blocking it. He was on the couch with a coffee table in front of him. On the coffee table, there was a small statue of a woman. I think this is what he caught - it looks like the shadow is popping up, but that's because the camera is moving. So he dips the camera down as he leans forward to get up, which makes the stationary statue "pop up." You could actually see a light reflecting from the base of the statue in the first few frames. The shadow is just the statue being in the dark. You could also see the cabinet and fireplace behind it, although the darkness of the shot makes it look as if it's an entrance to another room.

No kidding. And she never...stopped...smiling.
I love it when Jason and Grant get all serious when kids are involved.
What is this new girl Kristen supposed to be adding to the show? All she does is lie/stand there and look slightly out of it and then say "Oh yeah... yeah, I heard that."

No kidding. And she never...stopped...smiling. Mr. Spin and I were giggling, because we've both lived in Seattle for quite some time, and the people just LOVE to be on TV. Plus, all this ghost stuff is like gooooooold. Me, too. It's sweet. But, I have to think that they made the Seattle/Sammamish stop when they were frequenting other Seattle locales. I didn't like the "We're back home, and we're running back to Seattle" angle. Meh. You guys are on the West Coast, and just did all those segments back at the TAPS HQs beforehand. Plus, they were at the SAME hotel as two weeks ago when in Seattle, and obviously, it was the same room. She. Bugs. I really don't like her, but I give her major props for not falling over herself like a lot of other female investigators when Steve gets paired up with them. And Auron, that's a really good suggestion. I wondered if something was in the camera's way. I'd like to go back and see if I can spot other things that may be connected, too. But the EVP? Can't debunk that.
