And the things you learn in obits: His wife's name is Dreama, and he had 4 kids. Also, who knew some of these characters had names??

Man, this thread is playing with my head...I opened it fearing the worst...and (not paying attention to the date of the first message) think "whew, little buddy is not dead" and then to get to the bottom and realize that, yep, he is off to the big island in the sky!
I LOVED, LOVED Gilligan's Island as a kid. And I can tell you within the first 5 seconds of a show what the plot is. This is talent that does not impress most people, but gives me great joy.
I will never forget the staging they did of Hamlet for Harold Hecuba....I can never hear "neither a borrower or a lender be" and not hear the Skipper singing it.

This is depressing. My whole childhood was pretty much wrapped around episodes of Gilligan's Island, and now my favorite character's gone. ::sniff:
