Did anyone else watch this last night? Five Celebrities, Michael Bolton, Nick Lachey, Patti LaBelle, a girl from Destiny's Child and some country guy each picked 20 contestants to go head to head as a choir.
I liked Nick Lachey's choir, Michael Bolton's wasn't bad, but Patti LaBelle picked 20 Patti Labelles - which is 19 too many.

Philly girl here, and I gotta say, I thought Patti's choir was the best. they have the best voices and are the best technically. Besides, I know people who know people in the choir. So I'm on Patti's team. However, the songs chosen for these choirs are dumb. Who's the musical director?

The Philly choir is actually bothering to do choral arrangements, while the Oklahomans are avoiding complex harmonies as much as possible. And they've had the two soldiers in uniform for two shows now. What will they wear next, t-shirts that say "vote for us or you hate the troops"?
And "Friends in Low Places," Lachey? Are you kidding me? Fifty years of country music and that's the dumbass song you choose for your choir? And I can see why 98 Degrees wasn't known for their dance moves. That hip sway-clapclap thing at the end looked vulgar and silly.

That hip sway-clapclap thing at the end looked vulgar and silly. I don't understand why any of the choirs have to do choreography at all. Maybe I don't know very much about choirs, but I find it distracting, especially because a lot of the people can't really dance that well. |

"Jesus Take the Wheel", GREAT song choice. Arrangement was good too. Someone hit a bad note at the end though, DAMN!!!!
ETA: Team Lachey....creative and difficult.

The makeup on some of the choir members is so thick and heavy and weirdly colored. It's very distracting. There was a girl on Patti's choir that had a gray/green face.
