No love for the high school chem teacher with inoperable cancer who decides to cook up some crystal and make money for his family after he's gone? (On AMC...WTF!?) I don't watch many show but the trailer got me hooked: Beat up RV careening through the desert trailing orange smoke, guy driving in a gas mask, RV crashes, guy stumbles out & rips his clothes off, and he's standing there in tighty whiteys with a gun as sirens close in. What's not to like?
(Peeve: I missed ep 4!!!) (PSA: Kids, drugs are still bad.)

I think I missed 2 episodes. I don't know how the 2nd guy gets killed or how he reveals his cancer. I wasn't going to watch, but I started and got hooked.
See kids, science can be fun! And profitable.

Did you see the last episode (#6 I think) where Walt went totally badass on that distributor? That was great. And educational (be careful with your Hg(ONC)2, kids!) I like how they showed his reaction afterwards. I also like how they built up to this over the course of several episodes, foreshadowing it with his attack on the guys who were making fun of his son's condition and then the way he took out the Ken Wins BMW. I'm gonna start being a whole lot more polite to chem teachers from now on.

"This isn't meth." Poor Tuco looked like he met someone who outcrazied him. "WTF kind of crazy are you, blowing up my drug den? I only beat your boy down with a bag of money and stole your meth!"
I always liked Bryan Cranston as Hal on Malcolm in the Middle, but this show really shows the range of his talent.
Blue meth? I think some crazy is going to hit their town next season, especially after Tuco killed(?) his henchman. It was a bit unsettling to watch, but the stakes have been raised.

So that was the season finale? GAAAH! How long do I have to wait for new shows? GAAAAH! Walt is painting himself into more and more of a corner but the lines between legal and illegal have been blurred so much I have no clue what's going to happen. GAAAAH! Oh, well. They start reruns Sunday so I'll be able to see the ep(s) I missed.
UPDATE: Looks like we get a Season Two!!! (Sunday 10:00 p.m....probably Eastern) And it looks like AMC is showing Season One again starting Friday night with back to back epsiodes. This is the best damn show I have seen on TV in a long, long time. Don't watch the pilot if you don't want to get hooked. And cooked.

So I updated an old post, thinking it would bump the thread to Page One, but I guess it doesn't work that way, it has to be a new post? I'll never understand the internets. Anyhoo...best TV drama in a long, long time. Catch up on Season One. Starting Season Two.

AMC is running the first season as a marathon tonight (starting at 8 EST). I've been trying to catch up with OnDemand, and will catch the last two in the marathon. Very interesting show.

Is anyone here watching this show? I decided to give it a try after Bryan Cranston (who I just love from Malcolm in the Middle) won his third emmy. Wow, what a great show, an interesting story that is beautifully shot, New Mexico looks amazing. Personally, I think it's better than that other AMC show (throw the tomatoes, I am ready).

I'm tempted to watch this show. I currently live in New Mexico and there's a lot of meth here, sadly.

I caught up on season 1 and 2 this summer and have just started season 3. It is excellent so far and I strongly recommend it. Bryan Cranston is great but I am actually more impressed with Aaron Paul. His character could be such a whiny little bitch in a lesser actor's hands but he makes him sympathetic. Same with the brother in law Hank. In the first episode he seemed like such a stereotype but they've added so much depth to him since then.
I don't know if I would say this is better than Mad Men, they are so different it is hard to compare. But I personally find Breaking Bad more interesting.
